The Atlantic City Press TV grid listing today listed "Wheel" as being on late Saturday/early Sunday at 12:30AM EST on WPVI. WPVI, who has aired Syndie WOF from the beginning, had never picked up the weekend WOF reruns since King World offered them in 1985. Have they begun picking them up now, or is it a typo on the AC Press's part?

Listed in TV Guide Online as well. Guess you're now part of the club.
ASIDE TO THE REST OF THE AUDIENCE: <<Paraphrasing Groucho Marx>> I wouldn't accept any membership in a club that would have him as a member. <<end/paraphrasing Groucho Marx>> :)

Move closer to the bridge Horan, and jump offfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff...
Weekend Wheel essentially took over for Powerball Instant Millionaire, so it's the second season of weekend Wheel in Philly.

Brandon beat me to the punch. Thanks! :) Yeah, any former or current 6-ABC Action News viewer, since its inception in 1970, would know. Like TPiR in a different genre, the newscast has been sticking with its traditional theme song, news-tip plug (albeit the numbers have changed), and usual starting line "And the BIG STORY on ACTION NEWS is..."
For the hell of it, the voice-over guy, in place of "If you see Horan jumping...", typically says the telephone numbers to viewer who "see news happening".
(That's 1-866-NEWS-SIX, to the philly peeps. hehe)
The punchline was taken from the last contestant plug from Hit Man, instead of the afformentioned number above.
Okay, that's enough. Let's move on.

Actually I have a tendency to watch KING-5, just because I use Jay Leno as background when I go to sleep.
(That isn't intended as an affront on Mr. Leno.) :)

I'm thinking it was Larry Kane.
-
Well, inturnaround gets the 2 million CFMCB. Larry Kane was the original anchor of Channel 6's Action News in 1970, and he was the first to coin the "big story" line. He even brought that phrase to WABC in his brief tenure there. Gardner came to town in the mid-late 70s and became the cornerstone he is to this day. Kane these days serves as a consultant for Comcast's television outlet in Philadelphia, CN8 and occasionally does work for KYW News Radio.
Might I add that Larry Kane's "Philadelphia" is an excellent read whether you're a fan of the dean of Philadelphia newscasting, an aspiring broadcaster, or just plain great storytelling. Lots of great incites from a true legend. And, pick up his book on the Beatles if you're a Beatles fan...I hear it's a great read too.
Now if only he could say my college's name right, lol. A year or two ago he came to our local mall for a book signing, and my colleagues got him to tape a promo for the college. The name of the college is Cumberland County College...he called us Cumberland County Community College. Nothing big, but with the airplay it gets...
If you'll excuse me, I'm heading up to NYC for a daytrip with my journalism class to tour 30 Rock and take in NYC pre-Turkey Day.
