Title: Would you pay for the entire TPIR Music Library?
Post by: Skynet74 on December 18, 2004, 03:24:18 AM
If Score Productions and Fremantle ever teamed up and decided to release every Music cue from The Price Is Right, How much would you be willing to pay for it? Let's say it was a Box set of 20 CD's with aproximately 200 cues. I know there are some Die hard fans that would pay a lot. I also know there are others who couldn't care less. So let's take a poll. What is the Most money you would pay to get all the Price is Right music in the clear? $20 ... $50 ... $100 .... $1,000 .... More ??? Let's hear it.

After everyone answers perhaps we should forward this post to both Score Productions and Fremantle and try to get something going.

I'd ask for it for nothing; and then sell each CD on Ebay for $20.

I'd pay no more than $100 for that 20-CD box set.  Gee, can you make a box set that big?  The most I seen box sets are 5-CD box sets & those can generally run $95 at most($75 if it was on sale).

or I would buy it for my tape trading...and then copy it.

How much TPiR cues are worth for the kinescope of "You're in the Picture"

I don't think you'd need 20 cds.  There should be room for about 35 tunes on a cd.  I'd be willing to spend $7.95 per volume.

You know I was thinking of this subject the other day.

I think a few hundred would be max, but if I was one of only a select few to get this, maybe $1000.

But, let's not drag this discussion into why it's not economically feasible to release this music.

There is a kinescope of 'Your In The Picture' on this earth. I saw it on a Jackie Gleason 'Biography' once. Strange show indeed.

I woulkd pay maybe $45.00 for the prize cues, like I would pay for a favorite TV box-dvd set.

I would pay as much as $20.00 for my favorite showcase-only cue. Its the fun, uptempo, Nineties, jazzy cue. Call it 'Showcase Jazz'. It was used on the 33rd. opener in September, and many other times.

If you know it, and have it, I will turn over the keys to my trading site for it.

The audience is telling me $25, Bob.  But I gotta go with....ONE DOLLAR!

Without naming names, I know of someone who told me they paid $50 for "Millionaire" masters.  I got the file for free from the person, and it was a very nice sized file.  The file, I'm told, came from the UK version.

And, no, this is one that's NOT going up.

And if one of the other "select few" decided to start burning free copies for all his friends, would you still be glad you shelled out the grand?  How is being one of 3 people with something so easily duplicated more valuable than being one of 300?

I might shell out a few hundred bucks for an autographed original manuscript of the main theme.
