Title: What would be your dream schedule?
Post by: Shredder on August 06, 2004, 12:28:43 PM
I havn't had GSN for as long as you all, as has been mentioned before, so I'm rather dissapointed with these schedule changes....s  If you could make your dream schedule, including shows GSN dosn't have, what would you add?

If there HAD to be a mix of reality and gameshows, here's what I'd do...

9AM: Classic Price is Right(Either 2 30 minutes or 1 1 hour show.)
10: Jeapordy and Wheel of Fortune
11:Match Game and Press Your Luck
12:Bumper Stumpers( I beleive it was called, the liscence plate show)
12:30 Another show I can't remember the name of....  Scrabble I beleive it was..
1PM An hour of lets make a Deal
2PMWhammy
2:30 Russian Rhoulette
3:Lingo
4: An hour of Pyramid, Clark and Donny versions
5PM An hour of Hollywood squares, early and later versions
6PM an hour of Familly Fued
7PM The Mole
8Pm DodgeBall
9:00PM Amazing Race
10:00 PM Millionaire
11:00 PM Dodgeball

And on Saturday, find some way to lease shows from GAS for a kids block consisting of Nick Arcade and various Double Dare seasons..

And take some of those informercials that no one watches off the night time hours for some black and white classics, or foriegn versions of popular shows.  Wouldn't it be interesting to see a Japanese vesrion of Price is Right, for example?(assuming they had one?)

If I was in charge of the network, that would be my schedule :).

If you don't remember the name of the show, it couldn't have been that good.  Please don't try again.

Well, it was only on for a short time. And it's not as if there was a home version.

Ummmmm....yeah I'd call that a dream schedule because only in your dreams will you ever convince Viacom to let you air Nick shows.  As for the infomercials, do you even know the friggin' difference between running an infomercial and running a regular show?

I am happy to say that my dream schedule has already been realized. It was the last week of 1974 where I could watch great game shows non-stop from 10am to 4:30pm on the three networks and the only dilemma was choosing which one to watch when two were on at the same time.

Yeah, rub it in...  I guess I should consider myself lucky to have been born right at the beginning of the 80's, when there was still a fair amount of game shows to choose from.

Hey, it's a dream schedule, right? :P

That show would get one viewer.  Here's the most feasible schedule ever:

12m-12m: Paid programming (24:00)

All revenue, no expense.

It already exists.  It's called PIN.

I remember those days fondly.  We had another such period in the mid-80s as well.  Game shows were hot again on networks and syndication, and in most cities you could watch them from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (network) and again from 4 - 8 p.m. (syndicated).  Throw in the early afternoons too if you count cable reruns such as USA and FAM.
