The Deadline article speculates that it's a game show, but nothing that Bergeron has posted has confirmed the genre -- only that "it's very reminiscent of a show [he] previously hosted." And he's hosted many different types of shows.

Not to be a wet blanket, but So You Think You Can Dance may be similar to a show he used to host. I’m still hoping it’s Hollywood Squares with an amusing way around his tweet, say, they’re calling it “The New Hollywood Squares.”

I bought tonight's episode. It was a nice nostalgia hit, but I think I got even more excited for the credits and how many of "us" worked to put this together.

All New Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour ?
In a small way it could technically fit the "It's not going to be a show that I previously hosted. However, it's reminiscent of a show I previously hosted," statement Tom Bergeron made on Twitter.
As much as I would like to see this, with CBS currently holding the ownership of Hollywood Squares, unless ABC has officially cancelled Match Game and CBS is secretly working with Fremantle to bring Match Game back to CBS, I'm not going to hold my breath.
Of course, considering all the turmoil going on over at "The Talk", it wouldn't surprise me if CBS ends up cancelling that show in the next year, possibly giving a chance another game show could join the daytime line up with TPIR and LMAD. However, I have a feeling if "The Talk" goes by the wayside, CBS will just end up pulling Drew Barrymore out of syndication and putting it into it's own schedule.
