All right, which one of you was this? (https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/66r91m/guy_wears_two_in_the_plinko_one_in_the_stinko/)

My question is, who working for the show was dumb enough to put him on the front row in the first place?

/facepalm

So instead of yanking him by the ear and kicking him out they just go with duct tape over the offending bit. Erm.

/"we don't look at the shirts when we pick who is on."
//boy is that the truth.

Someone who figured having said shirt prominently in view on-camera would give the show tons of buzz on social media?

Yeah, but since when has TPIR been that desperate for social buzz, considering they're still pretty good at letting things happen spontaneously (https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/price-contestants-wild-tie-showcase-showdown/story?id=42878199)? I don't even think Feud would go that far, which says something. Here, it's even more out of place. I'm with Nicholas in wondering who greenlit this.

Besides, I didn't think people still made shocker references past 2006.

Hey! :)

I imagine the answer is simple. Nobody involved with the seating got the reference until the first act was underway. As for why they weren't kicked out, it's not that big a deal.

Except for you. You’re cool. :)

Stan didn't think anything of it either? Or any of the pages?

I’m sure Stan has no idea what that phrase refers to, or the original meaning.

It's pretty clear they didn't catch the reference until too late. When I went to a taping over the summer, some brilliant person wore a shirt that said, "The Price Is Wrong, B----." A staffer caught it while we were in line and had him put duct tape over it. So, they are watching, but this one was a little more subtle.

It's decent of the show to allow people to cover up offending stuff with duct tape because it seems like a Shmedrick's Clause would clear that up--just kick that person out of line or give them a few minutes to buy a TPIR shirt from the gift shop.

They used to make people turn their shirts inside out - I guess duct tape is more discreet?

[imagines Bob Barker saying this to the models....]
