Short article about the short-lived ABC big quiz, 100 Grand, and a 1963 attempt at the return of Jack Barry. Interesting stuff!
A slightly off-topic \"heads up\" for political junkies: the Kennedy documentary mentioned in the article on that same page (\"Crisis: Behind a Presidential Commitment\") is being shown on TCM Nov. 21 at 10:30 ET.
The writer goofed on CBS-TV pulling all its game and quiz shows off the air in the wake of the scandal. They still had WML?, TTTT and IGAS from the pre-scandal days (and Password had debuted) at the time the article ran.

Interesting about Jack Barry\'s involvement (one wonders if Dan Enright could have been far behind). Note that ABC sat out the big-money quiz craze in the late \'50s with CBS and NBC being dominant in that genre.
Rule #1 of game show production is not to cede editorial control over the game material. It invites too many problems outside the producer\'s control.
Who was Bob Stivers, the packager behind this gem?
