Eight more additional episodes have been ordered and will air later this year
Am I the only one bothered by a game show that has a \"second season of eight episodes\"?
You must really hate \"The Cube\", then.
Am I the only one bothered by a game show that has a \"second season of eight episodes\"?
By that definition, \"The Big Showdown\" lasted for 26 seasons.

If it\'s treated like a special event vs. a weekly, no. See: \"Under the Dome.\"
If it\'s treated like a weekly, then I\'d say yeah, that is a bit odd.
Aren\'t they double-running the first 8, anyway?
Last it was reported here, the premiere will be two new episodes, and subsequent weeks will be a new episode, then an hour from the previous week. So the first order will have all been seen in 7 weeks.

I\'ve seen the promos. For someone who\'s never seen the British version, my curiosity is peaked. I\'ll definitely watch the first GSN version of this.
So Season 2 will have 10 episodes, figuring GSN will air the two shows from Season 1 that have not aired.
What\'s your source for this information? Do you necessarily know for sure that those Season 1 episodes will air during this run?
I\'m speculating, which as far as I know isn\'t against any rules on this site.

...is in no way, shape, or form a speculative statement.
While speculating isn\'t against the rules I think that it should be frowned upon and the speculator should have some manner of source-age to back him up.I\'m speculating, which as far as I know isn\'t against any rules on this site.

Speculators who think a commodity will do a thing that end up being wrong might pay for their guess dearly, and those who float \"maybe, possibly, I guess\" as something approaching reasoned discussion are dismissed very quickly.
All righty fine. Next time, I\'ll put \"I\'m speculating\" in the sentence. That should eliminate any misunderstanding.
That should eliminate any misunderstanding.
And by that you mean \"miscommunicating.\" We understand what you posted just fine. If you meant to get across something other than that, the problem lies with you, not us.
Blind squirrel and all that. (https://twitter.com/TheChaseusa/status/373238071963045888)
Yes. And it has nothing to do with the information being presented as it does *how* it was being presented.

I\'m aware. I thought it would be good to identify a fact in this mess of hearsay.
Thanks for verifying my speculation and yes, I understand what \"the others\" are saying. I\'ll try in the future not to incur the wrath of certain people on these boards, but God knows that\'s not easy. I don\'t want to be sent to the principal\'s office. Okay, I\'m letting go and moving on now.
A version of this new promo aired on Jeopardy! tonight.

Between this and an ad for the return of 1 vs. 100 where they do the same thing, it appears GSN may be actively referring to themselves as Game Show Network again as opposed to the occasional references for the past couple of years.
Heard a radio ad yesterday as well with the \"Game Show Network\" name.
I appreciate the effort being put into this.

Heard similar (the same?) ads on the local FM sports radio station during the afternoon drive home yesterday and again on the way to work this morning, around 7:40 AM. I never thought I\'d hear a GSN ad on that station, especially since that station is owned by CBS and they enjoy promoting the heck out of the CBS primetime lineup. Good on GSN for expanding their advertising and taking a chance by advertising to an audience who likely doesn\'t know about The Chase.
/GS-related: One of the morning drive hosts is Chuck Booms, who hosted a Gong Show pilot in 1996 (and supposedly 6 regular episodes which never aired), and was a panelist on a 1998 John O\'Hurley-hosted pilot, Who Knew?
One thing that sticks out to me is that, in past instances of semi-reviving the \"Game Show Network\" name, it would only appear as text near the logo but would not be spoken on-air. Recent instances, of course, have changed that. Which raises a question that I (at least) have no firm answer for: is this change permanent?
Er.It\'s just your luck.
Courtesy of Son of the Bronx (http://www.tvmediainsights.com/?p=37871), The Chase reached a new ratings high last night - 620,000 overall viewers. They also hit a new high in the 18-49 demographic.Wow..did not expect that. Icing on the cake, to say the least.
Another viewership high last night: 666,000 viewers (http://www.tvmediainsights.com/highlights/38425/yet-again-a-series-best-for-the-chase-on-gsn/). (Some other very unusual highs throughout the day are noted, too.)
Considering these extra-high marks for The Chase, I hope a third season comes with it. At this point, The Chase is one of the only shows I make it a point to watch live, as opposed to DVR. It's good TV.Agree with 2 out of the 3 sentences (the commercial breaks are too long for me to agree with the remaining one).
(the commercial breaks are too long for me to agree with the remaining one). What are these "commercial breaks" you speak of?
What are these "commercial breaks" you speak of?I love that too (My TiVo is about as faithful and loyal as any pet could hope to be, and TiVo doesn't piddle on the floor) but one of the knocks I have about The Chase is excising 25% of the play.

I don't disagree, but welcome to television in 2014. We're lucky they're letting a guy with a funny accent talk on screen at all.
For the fourth week in a row, The Chase has hit a series high for a new run. Last night (January 28th), The Chase scored 827,000 total viewersI blame Obama.
