OK, so I'm the only one who cares about this...:)
But...according to an interview with Colin Mochrie,  (http://\"http://www.thestarscoop.com/interviews/colin-mochrie-when-were-in-trouble-we-have-the-most-fun/\")he and Brad Sherwood are scheduled to be on the new Whose GSN Is It Anyway (or whatever it ends up being called). Mochrie also says Ryan Stiles may be a part of it if schedules permit.

Actually, the title's already been announced - "Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza."

Bad name aside, I'm mostly looking forward to it.

Re: a tweet from Colin Mochrie today, the show will start on GSN in March.

If GSN's ad folks were on the ball, the tag line would be "this time, the points WILL matter!"

GSNN and Buzzerblog have an exact date of March 28. It will run five days a week.

EDIT: The announcer will be Rich Fields, again according to Buzzerblog.

So to recap, Fields was dropped from The Price Is Right because they wanted somebody funny to play off Drew on a show that, in all its history, has never really been thought of as a comedy program.  However, on a show that's set up to be a comedy program, he'll fit right in.  That about right?

Yeah, basically. Don't know why, because Drew's Line (and its Brit predecessor) never had an announcer. Wonder if they're also bringing back Laura Hall and her All-Short Haired Girl Orchestra.

Fiddle was a lady named Candy Girard, who appeared on (I think) one episode.

I wonder what time they will air this show. The time and/or the lead-in show may prove to be a factor in the show's success. No doubt the show will be repeated later in the day.

From the Colin Mochrie/Brad Sherwood Twitter feed of a couple of days ago - maybe that's what broke our board:

Quote
GSN just announced the new premiere date for the "Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza" – April 11. It will air at 8:00pm (EST). Starring us and a bunch of people almost as funny as Colin....but not as funny as Brad.

Jonathan Magnum of LMAD is seen in the promo running on GSN. So if Jonathan could do it, maybe Wayne Brady will pop in for a show as well.

Hey guys! Glad to see so many Drew/Whose Line/improv fans out here! I'm with GSN and wanted to make sure you knew all about the show before its April 11 premiere (8/7c). Wayne Brady will actually be stopping by for the premiere, so definitely set a DVR reminder for that one. And expect some other great guest stars as well. Here's the official site (http://"http://tv.gsn.com/shows/improv/") if you want to check it out further. And feel free to hit me up with any questions you've got about the new show!

I would be more likely to set my DVR if you provided accurate, complete listings information to Tribune Media Services, so that my DVR wouldn't try to record multiple showings of the same episode.

Glad you liked the show! And you're right. Charlie will be making a spontaneous visit to the stage tonight. Definitely another win for him! Episode actually airs in a couple mins on the east coast (8pm ET/PT) - you don't want to miss it.

I thought it was pretty good. It's more like Drew Careys' Las Vegas Shows and less like WLIIA.

I think it'd be better as an hour show, but that's just me.

It moved very quickly - maybe too quickly. Even if it's named after Drew, we're seeing a lot less of him here than on Drew's Line. It's interesting they have the old WLIIA regulars sharing the duties of finding audience members and so on...

And sending them to the two competitors of Tribune would be nice as well.

Glad you're liking seeing more of the cast in leadership roles! Who are you enjoying seeing more of? Personally I've been a fan of Heather Anne, Jeff and Jonathan so far. They've done some really fantastic work.

And we appreciate the feedback on the length and speed of the shows. If the shows are moving too quick for you, I'd suggest heading over to GSN.com (http://"http://tv.gsn.com/shows/improv/video") to watch a couple episodes back-to-back, essentially creating an hour-long show. There's also plenty of highlights and web exclusive games/behind-the-scenes clips in addition to the full episodes online, too.

I'm bemused that the "GSN" rep. posting here completely ignored this point.

One of my roommates started to DVR this on a regular basis on "series" mode.  Its slightly annoying to have to remove the "repeat" episodes the DVR thinks is new.

It's probably not his or her job. When I was handling the Games for Windows LIVE Facebook presence, it wasn't my job to engage the people posting nasty loaded comments, either. In fact, often, engaging the customer out of turn like that is a good way to get fired.

So, erm, don't hate the player.

@Modor - Apologies for not responding directly to that. I definitely did not ignore the comment as your concern has been passed along to my higher-ups. I've got to say - it's not something I can directly effect, but I have made my managers aware of the issue.

That being said - if you feel you can't stand DVRing all the episodes at this point, I'd suggest hitting up http://tv.gsn.com/shows/improv/video like I said before. All the episodes are up online and the official Facebook page (http://"http://www.facebook.com/GSNImprovAGanza") does a fantastic job of posting new episodes and clips daily too so check it out.

Thanks for the response and my apologies if I came across a little aggressively.  It's not a big deal, and there is no spilled milk in my kitchen.  It is slightly annoying as all.

According to Improv-A-Ganza's Twitter page, they'll be doing some more shows June 23-25. Tickets are $89. (http://"http://www.mgmgrand.com/entertainment/hollywood-theater.aspx") Notably, the evening's going to start with Drew doing standup, then bring on the improv players. The facebook item notes that "Audience members may appear in an original, primetime GSN (Game Show Network) television series being shot during these special live performances!" so I guess they're doing some more taping.

Charging people admittance for a television program taping???

Charging people admittance for a television program taping???
Well, it sounds like what they're claiming is that they are charging admittance to a Las Vegas stage show where Drew Carey is doing his act, and they just happen to be recording some of it for their little TV show.

And there's an argument for this: do you think the people who happened to be at whatever show George Carlin was taping an HBO special at got in for free? Hells no they did not.

Just so happens here that the audience is a little more integral to the success of the taping than just sitting there and guffawing.

I suppose I see their point, and ultimately the market will bear this out. If people think this is worth $89 a head to them, they'll pay it. If not, they won't.
