Title: "TAR" dead on GSN?

Over the weekend, Fox Reality ran a marathon of "TAR All-Stars" in their "Reality Revealed" format, in which an extra 15 minutes is added to each episode for current or recent interviews with the contestants, which in this case should've meant everybody doing more dumping on Bahstan Rahb and Ahmbah and Mirna and Schmirna.  (They're doing "Reality Revealed" this week to "Beauty and the Geek" season 2.)  Does this mean that GSN is losing the rights to the series and that the whole schmear's going to Fox Reality (which in GSN's current state, where the show should be) or was this just a one-shot deal with CBS Distribution for the "All-Stars" cycle?

I thought the same thing as well, but GSN still has TAR3 for the next two weeks on their schedule according my TiVo.  Looks like an All-Star only thing.

Media reports at the time said it was a four-year deal (http://\"http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/gsn-announces-the-amazing-race-syndication-deal-daily-repeats-begin-july-11-3550.php\"). So unless GSN can resell the rights - they don't seem to want the show any more except as a early-morning throwaway - TAR will endure into 2009 on the network.

People at that other board have reported FoxReality has rights to the three most recent races. The series belonged ever there from day 1, speaking as a fan - the 75-minute slots with bonus footage is much preferable to the GSN let's-completely-rearrange-the-commercial-breaks-to-get-one-more hackjob.

That makes sense. The deal with GSN was for the first eight seasons. The show went south quick on GSN, so it's no wonder they didn't try hard for seasons nine through eleven. Really, if GSN could work a deal, they should just resell their rights to the first eight seasons to Fox Reality. GSN has little apparent interest in the show any more.
