Title: Feud begins to spawn again...
Post by: Jeremy Nelson on November 16, 2005, 02:14:59 PM
Well, everybody's probably heard the news by now. Family Fortunes and the Australian Family Feud are going to be coming back to the air quite soon.  Mind you, when I read the article concerning the new Aussie host, it slated Feud having two families of FOUR, meaning we may see some other gameplay differences. Who will have the better verison?

Let the speculation begin.....

OMG not FOUR.

'Cuz the Dawson version in 1994 was so different from the rest....

Okay, so I may be overreacting from that. I just hope that we don't see any Feud '99 antics.

Then again, when's the last time Australia has messed up a good show?

Now I'm reassured.

I agree Charlie. Four people changed the dynamics of the Game on Feud 94. It would be like The Price Is Right with Three people in contestants row or only two contestants on Jeopardy. It wouldn't seem right. Also remember Charlie that Feud 94 only lasted one season, but every other version of Feud with 5 contestants has lasted at least 6 seasons. There might be more to having 5 contestants than one may think.

Holy wow. Between "Charlie", his apparent inability to recognize sarcasm, and this ridiculous assertion, I am struck utterly speechless.

(I'll even spot him the inability to quote correctly.)

Some friendly advice:

It appears you are a "newbie".  It's not a good idea to split hairs with board veterans...you'll come off as an idiot, and will subsequently be ignored by people who can help you.

In Burbank's defense, is it possible that his comment might have been in jest? I think I said something along the lines of what he said, and it was quite clearly a joke.

Then again, maybe he IS a moxy-freak newbie wanting to start problems. I don't know.

Mark, you keep going to this well, and it keeps coming off sounding wrong. Because it is.

By your definition, people like Zach Horan or Thad Dixon (two people who have been around this scene longer than you, I'll point out) are worthy of being looked to for direction.

It has nothing to do with being new, and everything to do with being clueless.

There are good ways and bad ways to attempt a joke that would have to be as subtle as that one is, if it is a joke. There are good ways and bad ways to react when everyone doesn't see it as a joke.

Unless nbcburbank is the reincarnation of Andy Kaufman, I think I know where this particular situation stands.

how did they messed up wheel of fortune?

When Tony Barber took over in 1996, they changed the set (though that wasn't too bad), the rules, the theme music, even the bonus round method of prize selection (briefly replacing the wheel w/2 envelopes marked "A" and "B")...however, they later realized their mistakes, and except for the set, most of the changes were reversed when Rob Elliott took over in 97.
