Title: Treasure Isle
Post by: Ian Wallis on September 30, 2005, 09:05:54 AM
Let's dive back into the past for a minute and think about that old show "Treasure Isle", which aired on ABC in the late '60s.  Anyone here seen it?  (There are a couple of episodes floating around).

What I find interesting about the two that I've seen is that they use Herb Alpert cues in the background while contestants are doing their water stunts around the island.  Those were many of the same cues used on ABC's "Dating Game" around the same time.

Herb certainly got a lot of TV exposure in the '60s - probably one of the reasons why his albums were always at the top of the charts back then!

Or, just maybe, he got a lot of TV exposure because his albums were at the top of the charts? Maybe? Possibly?

I was once advised by a senior coworker never to bring up the subject of Treasure Isle with Paul Alter. So I didn't.

I remember it but not in a great deal of detail.
