GSN's household ratings for August were little changed from the July numbers, according to CableWorld (http://\"http://www.cableworld.com/cgi/cw/show_mag.cgi?pub=cw&mon=092605&file=augustratings.htm\"). The network did a 0.4 rating and a 248K average in households for August prime time, compared to 0.4 and 253K in July. The entire track from December 2004, when CableWorld started publishing the monthly averages:
Dec 2004: 0.5 259K
Jan 2005: 0.5 268K
Feb 2005: 0.4 228K
Mar 2005: 0.4 226K
Apr 2005: 0.4 223K
May 2005: 0.4 207K
Jun 2005: 0.4 239K
Jul 2005: 0.4 253K
Aug 2005: 0.4 248K
Amazing Race has helped the overall household numbers some, but has shown its main effect in younger demos and more viewers. A GSN press release (http://\"http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/pr.cgi?id=20050919gsn01\") claimed big increases in 18-49 and 25-54, plus 325K viewers for the show. MultiChannel says GSN will run a spot for its Amazing Race reruns during the show's eighth-season CBS premiere on September 27.
