It's working fine for me. Perhaps some patience?
EDIT: Maybe it was my cache. From his support forum:
Family Feud Presentation Software 4.0, as well as all other software packages previously available for download, have been permanently removed. While the Game Show Presentation Software web site may make a return in the future, Family Feud and Pyramid will not return with it. At this time, I cannot comment on the reason for removing the software.
Thanks to all of you who have downloaded and enjoyed my software. It's been a true labor of love. You all have played a big role into the surge of popularity of my programs and for that I'm truly grateful.
I will still check the boards for those interested in talking about game shows in general as well as other things discussed in the General Forum. Again, thank you for your interest and your encouragement.
Sincerely,
Todd Robinson
This is extremely distressing and sad news. I wonder if he got a C&D letter? I hope everything is okay with him and his family...
-
That quote pretty much says it all.
Thanks for your concern about me and my family, Chris. Everyone is doing well. In fact, my wife and I just returned from a great trip to Orlando.
It wasn't a C&D letter and I am in no legal trouble whatsoever. As my situation unfolds, I will be able to explain what has happened. Until then, I'll still be around.
-
The site seems to be gone permanently. Can you post the link to the boards?

I'll let Todd do that if he wants to. I'm not sure how open he wants them to be, if at all.
-
Wow this is a total bummer. I had it previously downloaded and have most of the components, but my computer was wiped over the weekend accidentially and I had it on the computer. Have truly enjoyed the game....and it was a terrific tool.
Best wishes anyway. Maybe a friend has it still......Thanks for the enjoyment so far...

Folks.
This is equivalent to a "PLONK" post. While I certainly understand the sentiment (believe me, do I), I can also say: nobody cares. If yer gonna plonk someone, be like Nike and just do it.

What I find interesting is how we picked up all these newbies in such a short time span...and they all happened to post in this thread.

They're probably mostly from the posse who used to post on Todd's support forums.
God help us, if that's the case.
(Alright. Who made the "Evil Goomba" change? C'mon, speak up. :))

Are you being asked to develop them commercially for Fremantle and/or Sony or their licencees? :-)
(If so, congratulations!)

Todd-
Words alone cannot express my gratitude for your program. When it came time to take Survey Says 3: Totally 80's to the next level, we used your presentation program (fortunatley, it's backed up and will be used in Survey Says 4: Electric Boogaloo). And people were impressed. You did a great job, and i hope that you can continue to produce software like this in the future!
-
What can I say that hasn't been said already? Todd, you are an amazingly talented man. The amount of effort you put into each and every work is astounding. Your products have consistently been top-notch work, and for that, I commend you.
I hope that whatever is happening right now turns out well, and I wish you nothing but the best for the future.
-
Todd,
Both Chris and myself are sorry to hear that you decided to discontinue your game show software. I was really blown away by your effort that you put into those games both graphically and programming wise. And it was very cool to see that "team effort" by other contributors as well.
Good luck with your future endeavors and thanks.

Thanks for the comments, guys. They're greatly appreciated.

I know the ops will probably kill me for this, but I'm doing it anyway. I used to have this software and used it in my classroom. My students loved playing Family Feud to review. I had it on disks that seem to have been lost during my recent move out of state. If anyone is willing to "help me" get this software, I'd appreciate it. My apologies ahead of time, as I'm sure our friendly mods will put me in the isolation booth for a couple of weeks for this.

Well, I'm not so sure. It wasn't commercial, it was completely free, and it's not like people are required to burn the copies of the software that have been distributed, he simply isn't making new copies available. Seems to me that asking someone to set you up with it is a completely reasonable request.
Contact me via email with an address that can receive a 9 meg zip file, and I'll get you squared away.

It doesn't strike me as a violation of the rules either, and as far as I know, no one has asked us to stop people from requesting or distributing the software (as they did, annoyingly, with Casey Buck's themes). We'd prefer not to see a thread filled with a bazillion "Can you send it to me too?" posts but a single request hardly qualifies.

I don't think anyone's criticizing you, and one time and for educational purposes, I'm certainly happy to do it. I think Dave's trying to stave off the flood of "me too!" chuckleheads that have the potential to pop up after this.
Hopefully, they've seen how I handle things like that, and thought better of it. ;)

Oh, I understand. Believe me. My point was that I felt bad doing a post like that and wouldn't normally do something like that. I sort of took a risk in asking like that, but it was out of desperation :)
-
Hey, Todd! So sorry to hear about what happened! Hopefully, as a previous member pointed out, I hope that something positive has happened to you in your life and the pull of the games was just a consequence, instad of some sort of negative action taking place.
Anyway, I truly hope everything works out for the best and thank you VERY much for all your infinite hours of contribution to the game show community. You should feel very proud of the enjoyment that you've brought to our game collections!

Hopefully its not the same people that allow bootlegged video tapes to be sold on Ebay with out saying "boo" once.

I thought I commented on this at the time, but in case I didn't... I received a number of IMs and emails from theme hoarders who were complaining that Casey was making themes available on his web site. They were whining and bitching that their themes no longer had "value" for trading purposes since they were no longer "rare" in the trade circuit -- and wanted me to suspend or ban Casey for making their themes lose this alleged trade value.
When that line of attack failed to persuade me, they had the nerve to demand that Casey be banned for breaking copyright law. These complaints effectively amounted to "please punish him for violating copyright law because only I should be allowed to do that." Gross hypocrisy didn't sway me either.

McLean Stevenson: Hey, Frank. Do me a favor and stuff it.

Man, those nitwits bug me. What kind of a life do these guys have?

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I can't use the PM feature for some odd reason. But I digress...
If there's anyone out there that still has a copy of Todd's Family Feud and would be willing to send me a copy, I'd really appreciate it. I think it'd be a great idea to use for resident hall programming among RA staff at my college, and I've been trying to find the software for a few years now.

-
Sorry. Is this (http://\"http://homepage.mac.com/feudfan/au/91108temp\") it?
-
That's a link that wants to send some weird improperly named file. I do not recommend people download unexplained weird improperly named files.
(I'm replying to him offline.)
(EDIT: Or I would, but his email is set to private. Cue Mr. Wonka.)
-
I wouldn't recommend that either, though I'm not sure what's weird about a short text file saved to html. At least, that's what it should have been. Try again?
http://homepage.mac.com/feudfan/au/91108secondtry.htm (http://\"http://homepage.mac.com/feudfan/au/91108secondtry.htm\")
I've tested this one, though I'd tested the other as well and it worked from here for the nothing that's worth. Maybe typing this one up in Word will make a difference.
And now I'll go fix the email setting. 2003, it might not even have the right address!
edit: actually, my address was already up to date and was not set to private. At least, "hide my email address from other members" was unchecked. Something strange is going on. Anyway, it's my name here, at mac.com.
-
Still a semi-weird filename, but at least the link has a .zip extension this time.
(I see what you're trying to do. But really, "91108ff40.zip" is gonna make my eyebrow raise, where "FamilyFeud40.zip" is not. Yes, I realize that's completely specious security. Just saying.)
(And I will vouch for the contents of said .zip file, although I can't say I'm impressed with how your Mac completely farks with the file structure.)
-
I'll do you one better. I zipped the presentation software for Dawson Family Feud, Combs Family Feud and the unfinished The $100,000 Pyramid. They include files from previous games I've done but they can be easily overwritten. Go crazy.

I'm not either, and am glad for chad1m's post so now I don't have to try and fix it. "ff40" was the name from the original katymae.com download, if I remember rightly, with the date in front to remind me when to take it down. Everything else in that folder has one. Since they're usually for family, and also since I've been around here forever, I didn't think about the file looking suspicious.
