Now that I've got it, there's not really much I want to watch on it. One showing of PYramid, a half hour of Match, and the Familly Feud hour. THe weekend is the better schedule. And I havn't been watching Race due to the fact that I don't want to spoil the upcoming DVD's.
Stein is gone from the schedule, they didn't even get to the post Jimmy Kimmel shows that I've never seen. Press Your Luck is gone from weekdays, as I havn't had a chance to see even a full season of that show yet. Price is Right has been long gone, and seems never to return. and Lets Make a deal has been off for, what almost a year now?
I hope the schedule changes for the better in the next month or so....has anyone heard anything new?
-
I take it you're not a Bill Rafferty fan.
I like the schedule as it is. TPIR you can watch on CBS and the post Jimmy Kimmel Steins were terrible. The only additions I would make would be NYSI and the Bill Cullen Chain Reactions.

Now let's not be dissing the USA version. Blake Emmons or nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm wondering when they moved the Dawson/Combs Hour to 5-6?
Came out of left field for me.

I agree. As far as classics in general go, we're a lot better than we were one year ago. Maybe when Rafferty's BB is finished again, they'll switch it with another classic.
-
I think Password Plus and Super PW are a couple of the best shows that GSN has put on in a while. Plus Rafferty's CS is good, then there's blockbusters (which I'm not too fond of anymore), and the new season of Lingo.
The schedule is pretty good. The only thing I don't like is too much Millionaire, Weakest link has gotten really old due to reruns, and I don't care for the primetime schedule except I realize that they need it like that to get demos.
So yeah I think there's room for improvement mainly by removing 1 airing of Millionaire a day along with Weakest Link, but honestly how much do we really want to watch GSN? Seems like a few good hours is more than enough.

That makes sense. Maybe if they just switched off or something.. like when TTTT'90's run is complete, put on another version, or replace BB'87 at its end with NYSI or something like that, if you know what I'm trying to say. I wouldn't mind if they did that, since they have to keep up with the other demos.

Hadn't they had the Dawson/Combs hour at 5 some time ago (while it was still Game Show Network), and then moved it back an hour? It's more to me like GSN is just moving it back to an old timeslot. But that's just the weekdays; on weekends it's still at 4p.
Also, I'm enjoying the $100,000 Pyramid hour Saturdays at 5p, although it would probably be nice to show one of the other versions with it as well.

I seem to recall it was from 4-5 until a month or two ago (maybe when Amazing Race was added?), because I would usually get home around 4:45 ET and catch the last 15 minutes.
Now I can catch the whole 30 min.

I'd add Kennedy's "Break the Bank" and the CBS "Joker's Wild"....but GSN seems to be allergic to the Barry-Enright shows lately :)

Because they don't want to pay Sony to air them, for whatever reason.
-
It is the height of absurdity that one division of Sony would not allow another division to utilize the holdings without charge, especially when there are no other possible customers for the holdings. Is this another of those urban legends we always fall for?
-
I remember a time when Liberty Media was buying GSN in 2000, GSN still wants to air as many Sony game shows as they can and they were allowed to air it, but the rule says they have to pay for the Sony game shows ever since the Vintage Squares and Win, Lose or Draw were first reran and today, Sony game show rights are being pushed to the side and it's almost obvious that the Sony game show rights are expiring for GSN.

I doubt you'll see much change to the "Men from GSN" daytime lineup anytime soon. It serves its audience, the percentage of Invisioners here that live in their parents' house at age 30+ that cry "WE WANT GAME SHOWS". And the ratings are on par or slightly better than what it replaced. I really wonder why some of you folks think Now You See It would be a good fit to the lineup. The theme with the block of shows is '80s and '90s era game shows in general. Match Game being the exception, but when it comes to anything on GSN, Match Game and Family Feud are always the exception. Henry's version won't see the light of day again, so you mean to imply we'll see Jack Narz's cry of "Now You See It, and Now You Don't"? There's a better chance of seeing an episode of Bullseye WITH Bonus Island on GSN (translation: the chances are zippity doo dah). Chain Reaction is a maybe that might work, though I have a weird feeling we might get the 80s version of "the game of celebrity gossip" back on the air again if they replace anything (which odds are, they won't).

Hey, at least Chuck's on TV again....this time on Travel Channel. Granted, these are shows his company made five years ago.
-
And of course his big claim to fame is 5 PM anchor at KNBC. Poor Chuck, every night he has to segway to one of the real a-holes of Los Angeles television, Paul "Well if you want Harold Greene, you just might get him" Moyer. Google up the words "Paul Moyer and Ann Martin" for an idea about what I mean.

Yet another case of unnecessary snark.

Dude. You're so wrong here it's not even funny.
"Segueway" is used as a noun (despite not being listed in any of the online dictionaries I checked in), the verb form you were looking for (and correct noun form) is "segue", and a "Segway" is the vehicle Dean Kamen invented. And if you're gonna get a job in broadcasting and/or journalism, you'd do well to quit complaining and learn the difference between the three.
Consider this a service. Thank us later.

While I'm not defending Mark's incessant sniping here (indeed, far from it), you should not speak on matters you have absolutely no knowledge of. And in this case, and I say this as a Palace user, you have NO knowledge.
-
Chris, I mentioned the parallel of the Yahoo gaming group, ICGSN, which has many mutual members with the Palace and from all accounts they depict Mr. Odor as his last name...a sheer odor. The old ask three before me principle applies, I guess.
And to be frank and honest, I have explored around Palace, but I got out...didn't wanna fry that many more brain cells than I have already. That and some of the folks make the gamers in the said Yahoo group look like choir boys from accounts.
Thanks again for the broadcasting lesson, Chris...of course very impressive for ya to remember that as it has been several years since you've been in said business. But, hey you have ties to a video game conglomerate that has games featuring segueways to games with segways. Don't they make games with segways and segueways? : )

Glad to help (even though I fully realize you meant this as a backhanded compliment). I don't pretend to be a grizzled veteran of the industry, but I've learned one or two things along the way, and I know when I was coming up I appreciated learning whatever the experienced people were willing to teach me.
But, hey you work for a video game conglomerate that has games featuring segueways to games with segways.
This makes no friggin sense whatsoever.
You're doing a fine job of creating an impressive rep for yourself. Keep it up.
-
It sorta wasn't suppose to make sense...a bad attempt at humor if you will...yeah.
Hey, fun idea...let's get back to the damned topic with a schedule question about The Amazing Race. I brought it up in another thread, but it seems apt here more so. Do you folks expect to see more than 1 cycle of TAR in its current place and time slot?
-
Good point. Back on topic it is...
Here's another race question.... How long do you think it'll last on the air untill the Scheduled release of Season 1 on DVD?
