Here's mine:
Today, we had a guest pastor at our church (apparently, the regular one is still on vacation). He sounded a lot like Tom Kennedy.
-
One of my professors last semester sounded just like Bill Anderson and looked like Chuck Barris.
-
I had a co-worker who sounds a lot like Gordon Elliott.
-
To me, Bob Barker sounds a lot like a game show emcee.
Richard Karn does not. :-)
Bye.

My freshman year high-school algebra teacher was a dead ringer for Art Fleming. No joke.

So all of your algebra tests had the answers on them?

Even before Art was dead. How prescient!

I can't tell you how many times I had the urge to phrase my response in the form of a question.
"So what does X equal?"
"What is six, Mr. Norton?" :)

I think my 7th grade Science teacher looks a bit like Amitabh Bachchan of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Whoserman wins the thread. :)

Even though that isn't what the thread is about.

There's a legendary disc jockey named Jimmie Rabbitt who used to work at KLIF in Dallas during the mid-to late '60s; and did an 'underground' -type show at KRLA in the early '70s. He also had a radio gig at one of those satallite radio networks that played oldies; and that's where I heard him (one of the AM stations in nearby Ventura carried his show). To me, Rabbitt sounded like an FM version of Wink Martindale. I'm sure many Calfornia listeners at the time wondered if it was really the Winkster broadcasting under the Rabbitt moniker.
(BTW, I have an aircheck of Rabbitt on KRLA from the summer of 1969.)
Cordially,
Tammy Warner--the 'Autumn Hargis of the Big Board!'
P.S. Please, no 'Wink in a rabbit's costume' remarks; or it's eternity in the Lover or Loser viewing room!

It's not? I thought it was people who sound like GS hosts.
I don't recall any people I know sounding like hosts, but one of my math teachers in HS began every day with "Thank you friends, thank you Don Pardo." I made myself a Geek for Life(tm) by one day replying "Who died and made you Art Fleming?"

There was a commercial voiceover guy who, back in the 60s, did a lot of ads for such products as Duncan Hines, Crisco Oil, Beech-Nut gum, Frito-Lay, and Sunoco gasoline[''When you stop at Sunoco, you go with confidence"] who I thought sounded like Gene Rayburn.

There is radio personality named John (last name pronounced 'you RAN') who has been on a few St. Cloud radio stations for who knows how many years (at least 14 for sure). (104.7 KCLD early '90s, 94.9 K??? present day)
The very first time I heard that voice (I was probably 5 yrs old), I thought he sounded like Bob Barker OR Rod Roddy (Bob and Rod actually had similar voices).
