Where all four 'Winning Lines' shows taped during one long day at CBS, maybe in studio 33?

Or did Dick Clark and co. travel to England to use their set and studio?

Although I don't have specific information, a US set must have been built as transporting 49 contestants to England (plus crew, Dick Clark, etc.) would have been an un-Godly expense for a show that Les Moonves didn't really want in the first place.

"Winning Lines" taped at Hollywood Center's lot at 1040 North Las Palmas on a huge set so wide that it filled the back wall of stage 2 (iirc). Taping went hours and hours and hours while the extensive technical set-up for all those dozens of players was a nightmare. I was on stage 1 at the time taping the ORIGINAL U.S. pilot for "Fear Factor" which starred.... Jerry Springer!

And please stop reminding me that this and "Twenty One" were a full five years ago!      ;-)

Best.  Endgame.  Ever.

(Of course what we had to go through to get there was probably why the show didn't last more than a few episodes.  Ergh...)

Let me see if this would play in Peoria.

<cue TPIR harp>  If I were EP:

Under the assumption that there was an hour of show time, play three full game cycles, round one, Sudden Death, Wonderwall.  Once you get to Sudden Death or time ends, you're done.  So 18 people will get to play the game proper, and we get another Wonderwall.  Just cut that part between the last break and the end, and that should free up enough time for the extra game.

(I'd also cut the prize money, but that's neither here nor there.)

Well, Chain Reaction's end game became "Go."  Yes, the latter lasted all of four months.  Perhaps Wonderwall will surface elsewhere, and maybe this time it will be more successful.

They could go the MGHS route, and combine it with a thematically similar game show of the past. I can see it now . . .

"It's time for--
The Wonderwall!
Quicksilver!
Hour!"

Yeah, yeah, they laughed at Celebrity Connect Four, too . . .

That one earns you the Scarecrow Award.  The object here is to SAVE the Wonderwall format, not wreck it with an even worse game!

Only because of all the liability suits after celebrities kept getting hurt dropping them down the chutes onto the game board.

I really liked "Wonderwall." It was sorta like NYSI on a much grander scale (and NYSI was quite impressive itself.)

The object for ME was to laugh.

I believe there was speculation after WL was canceled that the Wonderwall would show up on another project, probably from Celador, but that never materialized.

  Brian

  Robinson Cruise?

Notice that the rest of us did not.  Hence, the Scarecrow.

Not while the original version of "WL" is still doing very well in the UK, thank you.

The Wonderwall WAS the best endgame ever, not to mention it was also pretty catchy, I might add.
