Searching for info on "Burt Dubrow Productions" on IMDB shows a lone credit for "The Cindy Margolis Show".
Though unfamiliar with that show, I'm certainly not surprised.

And which panel show will they be reviving, dare I ask? This might make TTTT2k and Oprahvision IGAS seem like the Moore eras of both shows.

Actual research (well, cursory Googling anyway) shows many other talk shows to his credit, though some people might still want to use the term "credit" loosely. I'm finding some sort of responsibility for all kinds of shows:
ALF's Hit Talk Show
The New Tom Green Show
It's Christopher Lowell
Kids Are People Too!
Jerry Springer
Dr. Joy Browne
The Mo Show
Sally Jessy Raphael
The Cindy Margolis Show
Bob Braun
He's also a childhood friend of Andy Kaufman and a TV memorabilia collector with a particular interest in Howdy Doody. It's amazing what Google can do!
I'm not one to judge anything before it's on the air, and if someone's bringing a panel show back to television, I'm the first one to cheer. Still, someone with that sort of track record and that sort of press release doesn't sound like someone who'll take care to make sure the game works. And if not, then why bother playing a game? Couldn't he just have a fabulous talk show instead?

Dammit, I was gonna suggest that there was an outside chance we were gonna get lucky and they were lining up guests for The Faaaabulous Marble Machine, but Matt beat me to the gag first. :)

Sorry about that. Still, I actually hope it's something a little less traditional and not, say, one of the classic G-T properties. Though if it is, I imagine we'll be hearing from somebody at Fremantle about it soon enough. Actually, even though Jimmy's was a gag too, a new version of Masquerade Party is probably overdue.

Why not just drop the pretense and say "flamboyantly gay"?
Masqueerade Party, perhaps?
Good guess. That's probably it.

Re: Dubrow's stint w/Springer, he only produced the show for its first 3 seasons...it wasn't until his 1994 departure and the installation of new producer Richard Dominick that it evolved from a Donahue clone into the human circus we've come to know and love(?), which was done mainly as a last-ditch effort to save the show from an impending cancellation.
ObGameShow: Springer hosted the UK version of Greed, and did a great job, IMO.

Four panelists attempt to determine if a contestant is actually the gender they appear to be. Or, they attempt to determine which of three challengers is not the gender they appear to be. There's a game there; in fact I believe Ricki Lake has done entire shows along those lines. It certainly adds a new dimension to the phrase "Masquerade Party".
Working title: "Who's Your Tranny?".

Perhaps it could be like TTTT, in which the panelists determine which of 3 cross-dressed contestants is *not* a cross-dresser and is just a normal guy wearing womens clothes.

I went to Burt Dubrow's web site, where a page has pretty much the same blurb as on the Craigslist posting, plus an application and an appearance release form:
http://www.burtdubrowproductions.com/games...ncerelease.html (http://\"http://www.burtdubrowproductions.com/gameshow/appearancerelease.html\")
Note the corporate name next to "Burt Dubrow Productions, Inc." in the second line of the release. Hmmmmmm...

"Game Show Network, LLC" is still the legal corporate name. I just found it interesting that they'd be going for a panel show, even with an unconventional twist...

They are still looking for one last panelist.

I'm told Karel Bouley has auditioned. Yes, former KFI and current KGO radio talk show host Karel, aka vaccinated-with-a-phonograph-needle Karel, aka shut-the-hell-up-and-let-someone-else-speak Karel.
The same Karel who once on the radio described a black person's behavior as "acting her race". On the radio!
