When WCPO started airing tonight's episode of Wheel, they didn't show the "WHEEL...OF...FORTUNE" intro, or Pat and Vanna arriving together on the stage, nor the first toss-up. The show began here with Pat talking to the contestants, as I stated earlier.

If they're doing it just to squeeze in an extra minute or two of commercials, Sony's not going to like it.

What's their excuse for JIP-ing this time?
As someone who works in TV news, I second this query.
Brian, I used to live in Dayton and we got most of the Cincy stations, 9 included, via cable. This never happened when we lived in Ohio (of course, this was umpteen years ago).
If CPO's still JIP-ing WoF because of bad timing of a newscast or they're needing/wanting to throw in an extra commercial, my best advice is pick up a pen, put it to paper and write a letter of complaint to the general manager (read: no phone call or e-mail; using the U.S. mail in this case is the best route).
After a few days, then you can follow up your letter of complaint with a phone call -- just to at least make sure it got in the right hands and the management team took your complaint to heart.
After about another week, if you don't get any response from 9, then's the time to write a letter of complaint to Sony.
Bottom line: A major market station like CPO should know/do better than this.

If WCPO-TV ABC 9 keeps having problems with WOF,then King World should move it and J! to either WKRC-TV CBS 12 or WLWT NBC 5. Preferably WLWT,because in the 1970's and 1980's Channel 5 had bunch of game show favorites like nighttime HS, MGPM, Bullseye and Gary Moore/Joe Garagiola version of TTTT.

Incidentally, we didn't get to see the first toss up tonight - no, not because they fouled up again but there was a special report about a town north of here being evacuated after a tanker full of gasoline overturned.

Brian. No one gives two tin shi*s about another Wheel preemption in Cincinatti. The tanker is much more important then seeing Tom Smith from Anchorage, Alaska telling Pat that he's a chia pet salesperson. Cincinatti has the Bengals and you. My sympathies.

BTW, did you see a different Wheel episode tonight than the one that was posted at www.gameshownewsnet.com at 8 ET/5 PT?
-
DSmith, my 2 cents would go on the fact that if you got pre-empted for a group of cheerleader farting in the direction of a motorcycle group, or something of the sort, you'd be a little ticked off too!
Now granted, I was a little ticked myself tonight when a pre-empt happened here for Wheel to show flooding coverage that they pounded into the ground not a half hour earlier for an hour and a half. So I see the frustration. It isn't a reason to bash and criticize someone for complaining about a pre-empt!

I have to admit that Wheel is not something I watch often, but I think that Wheel watchers are also people who are interested in local news (otherwise they'd be watching cable, right?) so an interruption for news, no matter how minor, is alright with them. If you're sitting at a high school gym with a thousand other people because you've been told to evacuate your home, that short news report becomes very important.

I agree, but here it gets preempted about once a month or so for some kind of school or cultural program. There was one time shift in that stretch to cover for a prime time preemption (one show aired at 8PM CT, and the program that preempted "Wheel" reaired at 830).

For Eagles fans? Oh, hell yes. :) If I had WPVI, I'd gladly watch the pep rally show..
I think there's something wrong with me though, most people worry about real-world things? My chief worry has been the Eagles, all week long, and if they can win on Sunday and keep going.

KYW did a crawl during TPIR that the pep rally at Philly City Hall has been cancelled due to bad weather here today. If WPVI does indeed go forward with an Eagles special this evening(WCAU has one at 7PM EST), it won't include coverage of the pep rally.
And we know the Eagles don't lose in the playoffs in recent years until they get to the NFC championship game :)

It's nice to know that I'm not the only Eagles fan here(arron & Zach).
I lucked out last night since I figured that station pe-empted J!(if in fact they did), I went shopping with my mom though I wanted to go see "Racing Stripes". At least I got a CD & a bag of M&Ms.

We're dealing with a person who frequently used to post to ATGS such brilliant questions as "Can you tell me everything you know about (insert show here)?", and ask that people completely put 'netgames he was involved in on hold for everyone because he was going to be out of town and unable to participate.
Doug's right, he's not salvageable, and not worth the time.

For those without a medical background, the explanation is similar to the one Mr. Lemon provided for golden-road's posts: Mr. Greek wants to feel as though he's participating but realizes that he really doesn't have anything to contribute. The difference is that instead of making up a question, Mr. Greek desperately searched through old threads until he found a post to which he could respond with something, even if his response happened to be completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.
In clinical terms, it's the Greek mutation of the Igottapostigottapostigottapostitis virus (Igottapostigottapostigottapostitis G). This is not to be confused with the Kleistian strain (Igottapostigottapostigottapostitis K), which incubates in bowling alleys and counts among its symptoms the posting of information that is incorrect as well as irrelevant.
(DISCLAIMER: I attended medical school for two years, but I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV. :-)

Which is a completely awful idea. Bumping an old thread is not wrong at all...in fact, it would be nice if more people made an effort to find out if a topic they wish to discuss already has a thread for that discussion. I think the issue here is more with the Furby in question bumping what was already a pretty worthless ancient thread...to add nothing whatsoever useful to it.
