I've bought three tapes from Shokus, and have had great luck with their products and their customer service. Don't know about Paypal.

I just bought a compilation of game show episodes from them (1950s Break The Bank, Twenty One and two others) and should receive them on Monday according to the confirmation e-mail. I didn't see a PayPal option, but they did accept my MasterCard, of course. As far as tape quality, I'll gladly come in with a full report after viewing the VHS.

Shokus is a first class operation. The owner, Stuart, is a Hollywood veteran who worked with Lucy and Desi, and was Lucille Ball's personal film/video archivist.

And to add more game show relevance, Stuart was a contestant on Greed in 2000.

Agreed.  I've ordered from Stuart for over 20 years now.   You can't get better products or faster shipping anywhere.

Although I've never ordered from Shokus, I've seen some of their product in my local library and have had their catalog..I am a big fan of Vintage TV and they have a lot of titles not available anywhere else.   I would love to get a lot of their Variety/Music shows as well as their Game Shows.  They only thing is..what you get on their tapes is based on the best possible master copy available. And if a show is less than perfect quality. They are very upfront about it...They seem like a very reputable company.

Shokus Video is really a class company. I've ordered most of their game show tapes and DVD's for about 3 or 4 years now, and I would recommend it to any vintage game show junkie like myself. I've never had a problem with them, most times, the tapes will come by Priority Mail 2 or 3 days after you order. The tape quality is superb, and they have a wide variety of shows, even an episode of "Okay Mother" from the Dumont network in 1947, I believe! Kudos to them for doing such a spectacular job and providing such classic entertainment! As for the PayPal, I'm not sure if they accept it or not.

Are you certain you'd be able to play a North American region DVD on your UK DVD player?

Ostensibly, if he owns an NTSC VCR, it's safe to say he has the good sense to have a region-free DVD player, as well. Or at least one that can be hacked to be so.

Chris, calm down.  Not everybody is as internet savvy as you.  It was a legitimate question.

Indeed I do I own quite a few dvd players since they are so cheap that are regionless or have hackable codes.

Even have two in PC if the tv ones fail.

Add me to the happy Shokus customers. I have bought several of the game show, commercial, and night compilations and they're all great quality and lots of fun to see again and again. They wouldn't have lasted this long if they weren't a good solid company.

I often get to visit "their" base of operations when I go to California.  Row after row of films and tapes.  Television nirvana.  And yeah, Stuart's the best.  I actually feel guilty that I haven't bought anything in such a long time, but I still have the Beta tapes I ordered in 1983.

I find that remarkable, but only because I assume that if you still have them, then you still have a working Beta player.

Your sleepless nights are over. I'm along now with my review of the customer service from Shokus Video.
FIRST! I was given an approximate delivery date of Monday, Dec 20--but was advised it might be a bit later due to holiday mailings being handled by the U.S. Postal Service. The tape arrived on Friday, Dec 17.
SECOND! Excellent picture quality--seeing how they were working with kinescopes for the material, that's astounding.
THIRD! I'm very pleased--so much so that I've just placed another order with them. To those of you who know the fellow who runs that operation, please convey my appreciation.
