Title: Nick Clooney may not be headed to Congress
Post by: davemackey on November 02, 2004, 08:06:51 PM
The Congressional dream for Nick Clooney has come to an end.

Republican Geoff Davis has won the Fourth Congressional District seat in Kentucky over the Democractic hopeful and former host of "The Moneymaze".

I was rooting for Clooney to win as well.  There will be no $10,000 dash for Congress (LOL).

Was he leading in the polls? Did he have a snowball's chance?

WLW radio in Cincinnati said that Clooney had conceded the election and was ending his political career.

Incidentally, to bring closure to our Presidential Blockbusters game, Kerry has connected Canada to Mexico, right down the Pacific coast.

Was that the answer to either one of the quoted questions?

The only polls released in this race were released in February/early March. He led them, but we all know how things change.

As for his chances: He had some chance (it had been held by a Dem before him), but the district is traditionaly Republican, Bush did well in Kentucky, and the Rep nominee had won 48% or so of the vote against the incumbent in 2002.

It just doesn't seem right.  He was eminently qualified.  Who better to give away other people's money than a former game show host?
