Well, we've talked about the end games that contains 10 Answers in 1 Minute, now we're talking about the shows that we don't see a host entrance, so I have plenty of examples so listen very carefully.
Weakest Link
All Double Dare Sequels(meaning Nick and Syndication)
Make The Connection
The early years of What's My Line? and I've Got A Secret
Figure It Out
All Cullen shows after Blockbusters
All Versions of the Squares incarnations
Friend or Foe
Dog Eat Dog
Russian Roulette Season 1
Now, these are the examples, so what other shows that we don't see a host entrance?
-
Pretty much all Cullen shows of the '60's and '70's except TPIR and Pyramid. Joe Pyne's "Showdown" of 1966, "All-Star Blitz." You could add Nick Clooney, who was in the middle of the maze during the early part of the run, so he had to make an exit, so to speak.
-
I have another one, so keep listening.
The Hollywood Squares--pick your version.
I have more--maintain listenership:
Knockout with Arte Johnson and Twenty One starring Maury Povich.
Plus, To Say The Least hosted by Tom Kennedy.
-
Huh? Did you say something? I wasn't listening.
-
I can add Sex Wars, Masters of the Maze and The Big Date to this list as well.

On the $10,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark and the $20,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark he was introduced and walked out and also on the $25,000 Pyramid daytime and the $50,000 Pyramid and the $100,000 Pyramid Dick Clark also walked out but I think Bill Cullen was introduced from his podium on the syndicated $25,000 that he hosted when he hosted it.
That's in Iris's lingo, so s/he should understand it.

On the 1989 version of 'Now You See It," Chuck Henry was behind one of the rings that rose as the studio lights come on. As his name is announced, the camera zooms in to a close-up of the emcee.

"The Name's the Same" had the host seated at his desk at the start of the show.
Eric
-
On Paranoia, there was no host entrance - PT was standing at his locked in podium at the start of the show.
-
You could also make a case for WLoD. The host (be it Convy, Lawrence or Weller) was already on stage as the cameras came on--all he/she had to do was turn around and walk a few steps, greet the audience and walk back toward the easel.
Doug
-
More. More! MORE!!! Listen up. You Bet Your Life. Groucho was already in game position when introduced by George Fenneman.
Also, Jay Jackson on Tic Tac Dough.
-
Maury's Twenty-One was mentioned - didn't the original Twenty-One also have Jack opening each show with a dramatic stage-setter from his podium? The two or three episodes I've seen started that way..were they special, or the norm?

That was the normal way it was done. In fact, I mentioned it in a previous thread about GS openings.
Cordially,
Tammy Warner--the 'Sarah Kennedy of the Big Board!'

Well, he DID ask the questions, eliminate players and award the prize at the end. Sounds like host's work for me. Now, not a very NICE host at all, but still a host.
Now, if memory serves, we saw him from behind walking into a warehouse, then saw him walking toward his chair (while a bright light obscured his face) then there was a cut to the 'standard' shot. That's about as close to an entrance as you can get without actually being one.

And we saw him leave the warehouse/hangar/whatever you thing it was at the end and utter a diabolical laugh as the crawl ended right before the cut to the GSN originals logo.

And also, Celebrity Sweepstakes both daytime and nighttime had no host entrance, now IIRC, the daytime version used the Stan Worth version of the theme music which we now have as a full clean theme, while the nighttime version has the Alan Thicke version of the theme music, this would be heard on back when it was tvthemesonline.com. And I now heard Jim McKrell said "they're hearing the actual questions for the very first time", this phrase can also be heard on both the daytime and nighttime Vintage Squares.

Actually...
Not to nit pick here, but isn't that a WORD?!
WORD - a group of characters which form a SINGLE noun. Etiquette dictates that plural words within the same sentence be SEPARATED by spaces, commas, hyphens, or apostrophes. (see PUNCTUATION).
SENTENCE - consists of WORDS. (Words: see above ^).
A sentence forms a COMPLETE thought... usually. ;-)
Now while it's true that these "words" DO indeed form a thought.. or sentence, the fact remains that they are NOT seperated; one from the other and thusly, it MUST be determined that the above characters form a WORD.
