Title: Recently downloaded from the 'net...
Post by: gshowguy on August 21, 2004, 01:14:56 PM
Just this morning, I downloaded the following:

concentration1997: Theme song to the Mike Hammond-era Aussie Concentration

thepriceisright1997 - thepriceisright1993: Theme song to the Larry Emdur-era Aussie Price is Right

familyfeud1977: Theme song to the Tony Barber/Daryl Somers/Sandy Scott-era Aussie Family Feud

thepriceisright1981: Theme song to the Ian Turpie-era Aussie Price is Right

catchphrase1999 - burgoscatchphrase: Theme song to (Burgo's) Catch Phrase

One gripe though: The Internet must be turned on, along with my DSL machine (in my home, anyway) for these themes to play, as they are on very bad .ram files (usually in the 3-5 KBPS range).

Other than that, those theme songs are great (and catchy!)

Did it ever occur to you to tell where you downloaded these themes, so that the post might have at least something useful for the rest of us?

Oops, forgot that. It was from the Australian Game Show Page (run by Edy Squirer). These were found in sections that described the game shows in detail.

Now, if only I could get a clean copy of the Aussie $ale of the Century theme (Tony Barber & Glenn Ridge eras) and the Aussie Wheel of Fortune themes (from the Ernie Sigley era to the current run with Steve Oemcke, minus the infamous era with Tony Barber), life would be great.

And I was having Thad Dixon flashbacks with all of the colors.

The reason why I used these colors is like a code:

Yellow means original file name, unchanged.
Red means original file name, changed.
Blue means new file name.

You did not need to tell us anything except the file names used on the site, in case we wish to download the files ourselves.  What you call them makes no difference to anyone but you... so your "color code" really wasn't necessary.

And it couldn't come any sooner!

When is it coming BTW? We've been hearing about it for so long, yet it has yet to come. What's the deal?

It's in the current pre-release version of the board software.  Since it hasn't been fully tested, I fear that if we were to upgrade right now, the complaints about certain posters would be replaced by complaints regarding bugs.

I'm not an idiot, please! I'm just a new kid to the board and I don't want to be treated with rudeness!

If you aren't an idiot, stop acting like one. Slow down with the international game show posts.

Adam, you're the last person on this board who should be calling out another poster for being annoying.

Well at least I don't revive so many old threads. I only did that once.

(Hey!  It's a post that is actually on topic!)

Just heard the Family Feud theme, awesome!

Now riddle me this, was this theme also the closing theme to Second Chance here in the states, or at least a prize cue?  The FF theme & SC themes are literally fraternal twins of each other!

Love them Score Production themes!!!

I think so, but I'm not sure.

BTW, did Edd Kalehoff (and Score Productions) compose the theme song to the Ian Turpie/John Deeks-era Aussie TPiR? It sounds very much like our version.

It would not surprise me. When I received it back in the day on the infamous Robair Tapes (THERE'S a reference for the ATGS oldsters, before the days of RealAudio, Netshow, and MP3), it was described as "the TPiR theme, if the sheet music were turned upside down."

I've thought of the differences between the $10/$20/$25K/$50K and (New) $25K/$100K Pyramid the same way - to me, they also sound opposite of each other.

Almost, I agree. I wonder if that means we could call the (New) $25K theme "Tuning Down"... :)

Thanks for the link!

The PYL pic is interesting...I see that this ran from 87-88...the set looks identical to the US version...wonder if it was reused?  Does anyone have any other photos or video of the Aussie PYL?
