So I was on vacation listening ot MPR and Carl Reiner was talking, he said he served in World War II with Allen Ludden.

 Carl already mentioned he and Allen were in the military together when he and Betty were reminiscing about Allen on the 1984 NBC Wonderful GS moments special.
