Title: SFX Question
Post by: gamed121683 on August 10, 2004, 10:14:25 PM
On "On The Cover", why do I feel that they hijacked the "Trivial Pursuit" sfx library?

And the next thing you'll say is that "Balderdash" hijacked the H2 SFX library and whatever game show used the SFX for the category reveal (that BigJon uses for Whammy.)  Get a life!!

I don't feel that a game show would be using sound effects last heard on a show that taped originally 11 years ago.

On the Cover also used the double buzzer from "Wheel of Fortune" for a wrong answer.

Really. I can think of several instances where exactly that has happened. I'm surprised you haven't blathered them off already.

Oh, God forbid someone ask a relatively simple question about whether On The Cover was using similar SFX from Trivial Pursuit. Why does that have to constitute that he doesn't have a life?

You'll have a much easier time convincing people of the latter than the former...

Nah... that was just a dumb answer.   You jumping down this poster's throat seems rather unjustified.

FYI, the signaling chime is also the chime from (smush).  For what it's worth.  I don't recall Trivial Pursuit having a sound library with anything out of the ordinary, so I really don't care.

I'm a new guy to this board, and to quote Patrick Wayne:

"YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRREEEEE RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGHHHHHTTTT!!!!!"

They do indeed use the double-buzzer from Wheel of Fortune, probably the only classic GS sound effect this show would use.
