Am I in a time warp, or did TPIR actually air at 9AM today?
Is this a permanent time change that I'm totally out of the loop for, or something done only once?

Maybe it's just on your local CBS station that airs TPIR. In Philly, KYW is airing its normal 9AM EST show.

Would you two knuckleheads wake up? It doesn't air until 11.
-
Thought- It aired at 9am in the NYC area because the show was preempted in that area for coverage of the Statue of Liberty's reopening yesterday.

What was that for? The man asked a simple question. He thought it aired at 9 am for some reason, and was just clarifying.

He was just following forum policy...

If I had thought to take a screen shot with the VCR's display function on, you would have seen that it did indeed air at 9AM today. Surley a fellow NYer can back me up on this.
Weirder still, I was walking the Seaside Heights Boardrwalk, and in one of the arcades, they must have had the speaker system tuned in to a TV somewhere because on the overhead speaker, TPIR was playing, and it was 11:30 by then, so it was on twice today...

JayC mentioned the possibility of the Lady Liberty story, so that's possible. FWIW, when the Clinton scandal broke out, I remember our ABC affiliate aired Wheel and J! during the 5 pm hour, instead of their traditional 7-8 block. Perhaps the NY CBS affiliate(s) didn't want to alienate their TPiR viewers, since it was a local story?

11? It airs at 10 where I am, and always has.

This knucklehead missed it, but his brother did indeed see it.
Now shut up all you knuckleheads.

That, in all likelihood, is because you don't live in the Eastern Time Zone.

As a viewer who receives WCBS-the station did air "Price" at 9AM as "Price" was prempted for the Statue of Liberty Special unveiling which began at 11AM . The show that aired was last Friday's episode which the station obviously recorded for the later playback .
The poor performing and insignificant "Ali & Jack" was dropped so "Price" could air.
As I believe many of the tech people that work on "Ali & Jack" are also employed by WCBS who were probably working the Statue Of Liberty ceremony.

I think he's well aware of that crazy concept of time zones. Either he had a REALLY bad day or I need my sarcasm detector fixed.

For a short time not long ago, KCBS in LA actually did air the show at 3pm..
Over the course of its life, TPiR has been on (all times EST) at 10:30am, 3pm, and (for a full hour), 10am, 10:30am, and 11am.

As if it really matters--"Living It Up!"'s been out of production since May. No conflict there.

For quite some time KGAN-Cedar Rapids didn't air the show at all, or buried it in an unknown time slot (this was before the internet)....then for a time they aired it at 2:00 CST....I believe they showed "Maury" at 10.

We've had it at 10 since the late 70s, whether it was KDFW (now Fox) 4 or KTVT.

I think I've told this story before, but since our audience changes every 20 minutes (sorry, stole that from a former radio program director I once knew), it bears repeating.
In 1982, when CBS-owned WBBM wrested the broadcast rights to DONAHUE away from WGN, the decision was made to air the program at 9AM CT, displacing CBS' shows in that slot. Instead of doing something sensible like keeping TPiR at 10AM and moving whatever shows were on at 9AM to 3PM, the decision was made to move CBS' 9AM and 9:30 shows to 10AM and 10:30 (and delay them by a day) and move TPiR to 3PM (also delaying it by a day). Not sure why they felt they had to go to the one-day delay (I'm pretty sure they could've stayed on a same-day schedule, unless I'm missing something completely obvious). This lasted until 1986.
