Right now, even as I am writing, Marc Summers is back on Nickelodeon as the guest on U-Pick Live.
If you have been watching Nick, you know they have been airing old school shows (but not much in the last few days) - but no Double Dare or any other old school games.

I tried to vote for "You Can't Do That on Television" but I only had a choice of three:
"Hey Dude"
"My Brother & Me"
"All That"
Needless to say, I voted for "Hey Dude."

In the Nickelodeon magazine, it claimed it would have Double Dare and Figure It Out as choices. Damn liers. But you never know. As they advertise it, they keep saying every week get's "better and better" but it seems like it never does with no game shows.

Really? Hmm. Are they trying to plug Nick GaS or something? You would think that Nick would try to avoid airing the classic programming at all costs, considering it appears that Nick is trying to skew there demos a slightly older. (Perhaps 12-15yrs.) By giving an opportunity for the classic stuff to be aired, I would think that there is a slight possibility that the demos could skew too old, (Say, 18-24yrs.) and simultaneously would run the risk of alienating the current fan base. (Of course, this could very well be some fuzzy logic on my part.)
However, I'm not going to complain. I had great enjoyment with the classic Nick stuff back when I was a wee lad. If they keep doing this, I may have to check it out for old times sake.

Well, that's what BSN (my name for GSN) is doing, so they wouldn't be the first.

Double Dare was great, but why would want to see Figure it Out? IMO, that was terrible and cheesy show. There are tons of better classic Nick shows than Figure it Out... even if it is a game show.

I liked it mostly for Summer Sanders, but I would have watched that show even if John Charles Daly. Wally Bruner or Larry Blyden had hosted.

DUDE! This was my fav show as a kid. Even more as Double Dare. No offense DD lovers, I couldn't help what I liked as a kid, LOL! But yeah, even as a kid I thought Summer Sanders was HOTT.
BTW everyone:
They freaking jipped us off. I go to the U-Pick website yesterday, and I get a message saying the U-Pick cast is taking a summer break. Geeze. Did they lie to make us watch or what?
Also, did Alanis Morrisette ever come to the U-Pick set? She was supposed to to celebrate the 25th anniversary and I believe 20th anniversary of You Can't Do That On Television...

The "Old School" editions of U-Pick Live was only supposed to run through 6/18, with the show going on hiatus until fall (though some Old School Nick die-hards want it off the air permanently).
As for the "Old School" picks, that ended on 6/11 -- it was replaced at the last minute with "Danny Phantom", a Nicktoon that Nick is playing like it was addicted to heroin. That has angered many fans at the "Nickdisk" community ( http://emerald.bbboy.net/nickdisk (http://\"http://emerald.bbboy.net/nickdisk\") ), who felt that they were cheated out of an opportunity for Nick's 25th Anniversary.
During the two weeks it did ran, no game shows were even nominated. In case anyone cares, here's who were nominated and won (in bold) for the Old School U-Picks:
Tuesday, June 1 - Doug, Angry Beavers, Rocko's Modern Life
Wednesday, June 2 - Clarissa Explains It All, You Can't Do That On Television, The Secret World of Alex Mack
Thursday, June 3 - Aaahh! Real Monsters, Doug, Angry Beavers
Friday, June 4 - My Brother And Me, All That, Hey Dude
Monday, June 7 - Salute Your Shorts, Nick Cannon, Hey Dude
Tuesday, June 8 - Clarissa Explains It All, You Can't Do That on Television, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo (The 2nd half of YCDTOTV was replaced with "The fairly OddParents", for no reason)
Wednesday, June 9 - Angry Beavers, Rocko's Modern Life, Doug
Thursday, June 10 - Pete & Pete, Don't Just Sit There, Nick Cannon
Friday, June 11 - Aaahh! Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, Doug
And here are the shows that were nominated before Nick decided that "Danny Phantom" should win it all:
Monday, June 14 - Hey Dude, Clarissa Explains It All, Pete & Pete
Tuesday, June 15 - Aaahh! Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, The Angry Beavers
Wednesday, June 16 - Pete & Pete, All That, Nick Cannon
Thursday, June 17 - Salute Your Shorts, My Brother and Me, Hey Dude
Friday, June 18 - The Angry Beavers, Rocko's Modern Life, Doug
Now you know why fans of "Old School Nick" now hate today's Nick even more.
Also, did Alanis Morrisette ever come to the U-Pick set? She was supposed to to celebrate the 25th anniversary and I believe 20th anniversary of You Can't Do That On Television...
Considering that her presence was announced in Nick Magazine, I think she would. But, with the shenannigans going on at Nick the past few weeks, I had my doubts. I don't watch the show myself, though someone at Nickdisk asked the same question, and as soon as someone answers, I'll pass it on to you.

(The 2nd half of YCDTOTV was replaced with "The fairly OddParents", for no reason)
Actually, there was a reason. It was replaced by Fairly OddParents because the 2nd half of the show had mentions of Ronald Reagan in it, and he just died, so Nick thought it wasn't a good idea to air that half of the show. Why they didn't replace the whole show with another You Can't is beyond me...

She performed on the U-Pick stage on Friday's show.

But the thing is that they never mentioned this reason on-air. After the break, they went to Oddparents, with no explanation to the viewers. In the end, the backsell ended up being awkward, with the host closing OddParents with "That was your Old School pick" (the "Live" segments were actually pre-recorded that week).
This incident wouldn't have happened in the first place if Nick screened their shows in advance.
As for replacing it with another episode, I think Nick only had the rights to show 2 or 3 episodes of YCDTOTV -- if it was "3", they could've put that one on; if it was "2", they had to show the previously-picked one again. If they wanted to show any other episodes, they had to contact CJOH in Ottawa first (they produced and own YCDTOTV), to procure the rights. But of course, Nick is too lazy to do anything right.

But of course, Nick is too lazy to do anything right.
Gee, the phrase sounds familiar.....'cept it normally has nothing to do with Nickelodeon.

And it's utterly asinine in both cases, since the speaker usually has little to no idea about the business details of running either network.

Wow! That Nickelodeon 25th Anniversary Bash was great! I got to see all my favorite shows, all the old stars came out, and nobody was left out! It was just like watching the network back in 1982! What a great job Nick did!
Well, maybe not...because
that was JUST THE INTRODUCTION TO THE OPPOSITE SKETCHES!

Yeah, it seems all channels that have been around for 10 years or more seem to just forget their old shows they had on, and that those awesome shows people still love today and they helped make them to what they are now.
BTW, since when did The Nick Cannon Show become old school? I thought that show was still on!

Not since sometime in 2003.
BTW, I got the info about the You Can't episode from this post on alt.tv.nick- http://groups.google.com/groups?dq=&hl=en&....tv.nickelodeon (http://\"http://groups.google.com/groups?dq=&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&threadm=2t0dc0t31oajngught4dtqmm1h4btcpp4q%404ax.com&prev=/groups%3Fhl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26group%3Dalt.tv.nickelodeon\")

I've never even heard of it. In my opinion, it should have premeired at LEAST 10 years ago and should no longer be on the air to be considdered "old school." There were a few that I feel does not fit into that category. "Angry Beavers," "All That," there were a few others that escape my mind right now.
