Title: Ebay Item of the Week

I'm hoping to see it go over a thousand dollars before they're through.

Well, I'd hate to think what my NBC TPIR slide is worth, then... even if it doesn't feature a picture of Bill in the image.

Anyone notice a mistake in the description of the slate?

Hint: It's in sentence 3

Is the mistake that the poster said the pricing games were modified?  TMK, there were no pricing games on the original Price is Right.

 Nonsense.

In 1972, they introduced different pricing games in a modified format.  But the original format was itself a pricing game, and it wasn't the only one either.  They routinely played different pricing games for special prizes.  They may not have had special names for them, and they didn't even play them every show.  That's why the seller correctly referred to the 1972 version as a "modified format".

If you want to go fishing for mistakes, go to sentence two and see that there's no reference to the Cullen show moving to ABC for a while.

Well... if I think the person is who I think it is, I gave it to him a few years ago. So, that answers your question.

cmjb13, you've been there so many times, haven't you ever come back with "Price" props? And no, I didn't steal them because they are the old style with the glued-on plastic numbers. They were headed for the dumpster anyway...

Not quite -- at close of auction, the final price of the slide was $363.23.

Cool.  Something that is literally trash being sold for what will likely be a hundred dollars or more by the time it's through.

And three hundred sixty bucks for that little slide?  I'm a pretty serious collector myself and I just don't understand that.

All I know is, Bob Boden will never go hungry.

$55 for a $1,035 price tag & a photo?  Somebody's screw is loose here.  I wonder if any prize will be $1,035 again on TPIR?

Anybody recognize which game it's from? If it's one that the models held up and revealed, mightn't there be a TPIR logo on the other side?

I'm tellin ya, kids, go down to the local art supply store and start making your own "genuine" TPIR props. I might just start a line of "genuine" Password Plus wallets and make me an EBay fortune.

Sounds like a good art project there.  Except using black paint on a prop like that can get messy.  Me, I'd settle for poker chips with a $ painted on them & use them as "miniature" Plinko chips.  The board itself might be 1/20 scale but it'll do.  That would be my dream art project.

I was wondering the same thing.

I would figure if it did have the TPIR logo, it would be a hell of a lot higher than it is now. Plus he would have posted a photo of the other side. I think it just has a blank backing.

Double Prices, me thinks. No, no logo on the back of those.

I doubt it. Nowadays, most prizes tend to be $1036 and above.

Here's one that will take no effort at all. Instead of using an entire roll of toilet paper, use only half a roll. Take a picture of the remaining half-roll and post it on EBay with the description that it came from Bob Barker's private dressing room in studio 33 at CBS Television City, and the first half of the roll was used by Barker himself. Judging from the TPIR mementos people have paid money for (Frank Wayne's personal notes, for example), this will fetch $25 on EBay guaranteed.

Well, if TPIR wants to offer anything from Kohler Interiors, they'll find at least one item in which the MSRP is $1035.

And here it is. (http://\"http://www.kohlerinteriors.com/mcguire/2_1_5_0_coll_prod.jsp?browse_key=McGuire!354750!Tables!Other+Tables&index=3\")

Come to think of it, who'd want a $1,035 side round table anyway?  It's most likely too small to be staged for a pricing game like One Right Price anyhow.

Think that will fetch anything?

But as an IUFB, it might work (and I consider those prizes, even if they're not the big ticket items you could win once you get on stage).

Hopefully I'll see those big ticket items myself in a couple of weeks (assuming that I get in with no difficulties).

50 bucks if it's burnt out. I would say, hmmm, at least $200 if it's working.

Now Christopher, here's what you do: go down to the hardware store and pick up a case of the exact same type of light bulb. Let's say there are 24 light bulbs in a case. If each one fetches $200 (or more) on EBay, you've just made $4,800 on a very modest investment.
