Just channel-surfed to PAX to check out another episode of OTC, but America's Funniest Home Videos was on. Has PAX moved the show already?

I noticed on the PAX schedule on their site, OTC was listed for Monday and Tuesday this week, and AFV is listed at 8pm thereafter.
-
Yep, just checked it myself thru next week. Could PAX have already canceled the show? That's gotta be some kind of record for a 5 day a week show.......
Correction: OTC is a 4 day a week show (Mon.-Thurs.)

AFHV is in OtC's slot through June and July.
Is this a record for shortest-lived 5-a-week game show if it indeed has been canned?
-
Maybe PAX decided to wait and air it along with Balderdash when it premieres in July.
-
Rather odd to see America's Funniest Home Videos replacing On The Cover.
Oh well, as long as it means more classic AFHV, I'm all for it. (I'm a big fan of the early years with Saget hosting.)
-
I'm not sure what happened. Maybe the ratings for that show were so bad that they switched it back to AFV. Or maybe they put it on hiatus until July to make it air with Balderdash. We'll have to wait and see...
-
Well according to Pax's site, the schedule for the fall has it listed to pair with Balderdash Mon-Fri, though this was from May 11th, so this may be a mistake, but we'll see. Also, the site for the show, has a show taping day on May 20th. So who knows at this point

Hey, believe it or not, it may not be a record. Remember Genesis with Jim Mckrell? I don't know if that was intended to be just a special or not. Their first game show, Reel to Reel, was canceled after about 50(?) or so episodes(can anyone fill me in here?) because of circumstances out of PAX's control, which were: the production company's problems, as well as the prizes that were never really awarded.
-
This kinda stinks, because our affiliate in St. Louis doesn't even carry the game. So at least you guys will be able to see it.

Genesis was a pilot that was aired to test the waters, if I'm not mistaken....

I was pretty sure I heard commercials for On The Cover today on one of the local radio stations played in our office. Whatever caused this decision to not run the show tonight must have been done in a hurry....

Well congratulations, Adam, you just discredited your statement with your statement. What will you think of next?

He'll say that Mark has bipolar....

I edited my post to make it sound better

And yet, somehow, it didn't work.

If indeed On The Cover was canned after only 2 shows, PAX has more serious finnancial problems than I reailized. YIKES!
-
It did last twice as long as "You're in the Picture." Perhaps a lower-profile timeslot (say, early fringe) would have been better for the show.
-
And if OTC doesn't come back, it would be the shortest-lived show of the present era (since 1999) of prime time games, surpassing the one-week run (five episodes) of Fox's It's Your Chance of a Lifetime in 2000.

Iowa is the North Star State?
We want some more pro wrestling (STILL) and NASCAR questions!
-
Wasn't Billy Bush's "Let's Make A Deal" pulled after 2 weeks?
-
I did see where OTC will return, this time with "Balderdash" in July.

Where did you see that? I just checked PAX's schedule, and July is completely blank.
UPDATE: I perused GSN's message board and via Mark W thru Itiparanoid, OTC will "re-premiere" in July along with Balderdash. This more than likely means the show must've pulled terrible numbers during its first two airings.

He does - my bowling buddy told me the same thing, and coming from the man who told me that Peter Marshall hosted the Match Game, I definitely believe him.

It was axed after three weeks. It's Your CoaL lasted a week (but five episodes aired).

Start spreading the word?

Mark didnt say what the ratings or anything were like. All he told me was that it will be back in July.
-
OTC is taking a brief break from taping... just a week or 2... to enhance the look of the set and make some other changes we can discuss later. The show will re-debut in July.

So then this 2 episode shot was just a test drive, eh?
Eh, felt like a Saturn to me. Good in it's own right, but not even CLOSE to drool-inspiring, as some models are.

One wonders what "terrible" means when it comes to PAX ratings. :-o
-
If what Randy says is true, that makes me feel better about On The Cover.
I wonder why they decided to show it NOW rather than wait untill July to pair it up with Balderdash?

ENHANCE the set?! The set is the least of the show's problems.
I say make the set circular, have arena seating, and add a few trap doors. That should work :-)
