Title: The ultimate "home game"
Post by: pyrfan on March 29, 2004, 04:48:35 PM
I throw this question out to all: If you could have one game show set in your house, which one would you want? This is fantasy, so don't think about space limitations, electric bills, and so on. I'll save my answer until I've heard from some of you.

For April Fool's Day, those of you who work in offices could rearrange the cubicles as an homage to "The Money Maze."

Think of it: a Family Feud rec-room! (Dawson or Combs set)

The buzzer makes a great coffee table...

Price is Right complete with Shell Game, Hole in One, and Plinko sets of course, plus Superball!! if Boden is willing to give it up.  And maybe a wheel from Wheel of Fortune.

OK, because somebody's gotta say it ... just give me the dressing room for Barker's Beauties :)

Barring that, maybe the first "mod" set from 70s To Tell The Truth. It was sooooo groovy!

I'll probably be the only one who says this.. But I'd like to have the Face the Music set.  I liked all the chase lights, and having a live band in my house would be great. :)

Tough call...it'd be 80's High Rollers or 80's Pyramid.  Probably lean toward HR because that set was just too cool...all the electronics were pretty awesome too.

I'd want the Concentration board, clunky trilons and all ... in addition to the prize board slips.

Would probably computerize the controller for the board, and update the set around it.

I'll take Match Game. It has The least amount of electronics to break down. Plus you can still play during a Power Outage! Can I get an unlimited supply of Blank cards for answers too? I'll even buy my own magic markers. :-)

That's right, folks: Earth.

Speedy G. stole my thunder on Finders Keepers.  That would be my pick.  My mom may not like the idea of having kids roaming the house searching for hidden items in each room.

OK, I know this is just a goofy fantasy thread that isn't supposed to make any sense anyway, but I can't help myself.  If you're going to fill up your house with TWO game show sets, out of all the wacky, beautiful and/or bizarre sets you could pick, why would you pick the two with which YOU'D PLAY THE SAME DAMN GAME?

There are a few problems with that one....

1. Who would replace the broken light bulbs? (No one, apparently.)

2. Tommy Oliver uses up all the hot water and leaves none for you to take your morning shower.

Would we consider the Magnificent Marble Machine of the game of the same name a prop or a set?  'Cause if it's the latter, that's what I'd go for, especially if it came with a house big enough to house it.

You all suck so completely.  Any fool would choose the entire set of Legends of the Hidden Temple.  Think about it....your own pool (you frequently had to cross the pool at the very beginning) and your own Fun House of a variety of Marques de Saade equipment in those rooms, which could come in handy at various and sundry parties.  :)

Parties of which I have never been to, of course..I've just heard about.  ;)

Actually beyond that, I'd love to have the WOF puzzleboard (pre-electronic).  I used to get bloody giddy at the end of the show when I'd see Pat rearranging letters on the puzzleboard to spell out something funky.  Anyone else like that?

Guess it's time I answered my own question.

I'd love to have the set from "Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour" in my house. We've talked a lot about the quality of the show, but that set was great (as was the theme). Plus, having that set means you get to play two different game shows!

Can I have the entirety of the set from The Crystal Maze in my home, please? Plus some proper heating, because living in a converted air hangar is likely to be mighty cold, Aztec zone or no.

I do like the shape of this bulbous rounded triangle that I'm using for an icon on this post. It's fat and friendly. (Like me!)
