Title: Lost 1967 WML Episode Found
Post by: Eric Paddon on September 01, 2025, 03:27:38 PM
A 16mm kinescope of a lost WML episode from 1967 (July 23) with Carl Reiner as Mystery Guest has been found on e-bay and won by the administrations of the WML Facebook group who previously found on e-bay and restored a lost 1950 WML episode a few years back.    They will eventually get it digitized though that process will take a few months.    I held off mentioning the film was on e-bay because I didn't want any well meaning members here to suddenly start a bid war.   (As it was it went for $643).

I'm always intrigued by kinescopes that escaped the G-T vaults decades ago and then somehow pop back up for collectors to find.  The seller of that Make The Move pilot we got together to purchase so many years ago told me she got it at an estate sale somewhere in New England, and I'm convinced a G-T executive took it home with him at some point and neglected to return it.

Wouldn't mind some Secret episodes turning up that way.  Besides the hundred or so cigarette episodes that Fremantle never showed us (and even those are trickling out) I figure there are 30 Secret episodes that are simply not in the archives.

I do wonder how many more holy grails we'll be finding in the near future.

I can personally confirm that the LOC has a seven-minute video clip of Sale of the Century from 1971 hosted by Jack Kelly. It's a fascinating watch.
