Starting today, 25 Words or Less is livestreaming one episode a day from their upcoming season, warts and all. The stream airs every weekday at 3 PM ET and is on Xumo Play (https://play.xumo.com/tv-shows/25-words-or-less/XM0S7351NKZ2Y4).
The event, which lasted about 50 minutes to record a 20-minute episode, started off with a bang today. The winning team used all 25 clue words to get their ten words to win $10,000 in the money round... or so they thought. About 30 seconds into the celebration, a producer (whom viewers can hear as part of the experience) explained that the counter was out of whack, and they had actually gone one word over the limit. (He also said the giver used a clue word that was part of the answer, but the contestant disputed that.) Since that was production's fault for not catching it before it resulted in a win, they killed the round and gave the champions a whole new list, which they resolved with zero words left, winning $10,000 after all.

Sharing amusing bloopers is one thing. Spewing out a live feed for a show that we're supposed to see in its edited form, and allowing the general public to see hugely embarrassing mistakes as they happen, is something else entirely.

I'm a bit confused about an "upcoming season". I thought they were cancelled after the season ended this summer?

That was Pictionary and Person, Place, or Thing.

Is Meredith on set in Atlanta and has an audience returned? Or is still being produced under “pandemic” (aka economically advantageous) conditions?

I kind of love it as an idea, the entertainment of being in the audience of a live taping without the tedium of the travel and being allowed to go to the toilet on YOUR schedule - I'm sure we've all got stories of What Hosts Are Really Like off-script and whatever. But I'm fascinated to find out how many people would be bothered to enough to sit in a virtual audience for 25 Words or Less which strikes me as quite a niche choice.

They are all in person on the same soundstage in Atlanta, but still playing in the "pod" setup.

I think this is a good idea marred in this specific instance by bad execution. Luckily, the solution is as easy as not airing streams live (I assume Xumo Play can do "watch parties" like YT and Twitch can) so you can better curate which episodes get streamed and which ones remain in the realm of "the magic of television."
