rwalker posted about this in the obituary thread, but I want to make sure it has higher visibility for those interested. Game Show Network posted this today:
Join us to pay tribute to legendary game show host, Wink Martindale with episodes of Tic-Tac-Dough.
This Sunday, April 20th from 2-6p.
DVR listings may not update in time, so keep an eye out if that's your game plan on Easter.

I guess this is the only show of Wink's they have in the vault. It's nice to see them pay tribute.
-
Im not sure what else they would have access to, and z instant Recall didn’t really set the world on fire.

Per their website 2PM is the season 3 premiere, listed as Thom McKee's 31st day and 5:30 is an episode of the $100,000 Seniors tournament.
EDIT: also appears to be listed there as Brooke Burns episodes, so if for some reason you have a season pass for the new one, it MIGHT pick these up.

I hope the Seniors episode is the one with Janie McNeely and her four boyfriends. :)

I saw the ep where Thom was finally defeated. The "Women in Film" category did him in. But what a winning streak, over $300K including eight cars. He had nothing to hang his head about.
A Wink Martindale story. In 1978 when I was in Lala Land, I attended a taping of TTD. It was taping at CBS Television City. My friends had opted to see TPIR that evening. But I had already seen that so I opted for TTD. IIRC Jay Stewart was the announcer and they did three shows. It was the syndie version. Because of the technology of that time, when there was a tied game, they would stop tape, reset the monitors and put new questions in Wink's podium. There were a couple of stopdowns but Wink and Jay kept us informed and entertained. A good experience.
Coming out of the studio after a long taping day, Wink signed autographs and talked to fans. He told us "You stayed for the whole taping? I should be asking for your autograph ." I then asked the CBS pages about the TPIR taping. They said they were still taping, and this was about 10:30 pm. My friends told me everything that could go wrong did. So apparently I made the right choice about what show to see.

I kind of suspected that, given that there was a jump cut between Wink introducing the nine new categories and the shot of them popping up on the board.
Were there multiple daytime/nighttime Price episodes taping that night? I'm surprised they went that late.
-
Do we hsve a list of what was audited? I think I grabbed just the first two shows.

My friends told me the TPIR crew had just gotten back from vacation that day, so there were kinks and bugs they had to work out. But Bob and Johnny O handled it like pros. They taped two hour-long shows that day, when all was said and done.

The eight episodes aired today were:
1980-3rd season premiere, Thom vs. Candy
1980-Thom vs. Laurie
1980-Thom vs. Erik (Thom is defeated)
1980-Erik vs. Mary
1980-Matt vs. Lee
1985-Wendy vs. Eddy
1985-Victoria at Dragon, then vs. David
1979-Over 80 Tournament finals [Day 8]

Genuinely delighted at the selection of episodes. Was expecting them to just throw on Thom episodes and call it a day.
All have run on the network before but Erik vs. Mary and Matt vs. Lee haven't run since late 1997, and the two 1985 shows haven't run since 2000 (and none of the four have rerun on, say, GameTV)

Can someone share what made the 1985 episodes special? Thanks in advance!

I believe they were picked because both episodes saw the champs winning a car.

That's one of the things about the old school guys like Wink, Jay, Bob and Johnny O, they could keep the crowd entertained during stopdowns and breaks. Drew and George are the closest to that era on Price (and Drew, being a comic, could keep the crowd entertained during breaks too).

Just wondering if anyone happened to record these in a way that might be easily available. I had tried to record them on YouTube TV, but it didn't work.
