What GS music just really unexplainably hits you, making you feel really happy to hear it?
I think the joy I get from Bullseye closing is a matter of public record at this point, so I'll say that the Elaine Joyce's New Dating Game closing really makes me want to dance.

This isn't necessarily intended to be an A/V thread, I just felt the need to give the live example ;D

I agree that version of TANDG rocked!!! When they went to the watered-down mix during Jeff MacGregor's reign, it took a lot of the fun out of the show's.theme.

"The Last Word" and "Make the Grade" are my top bangers. I could say the same about a lot from the Score and Kalehoff camps, though.
If we count stock music, "The Mad Dash"'s theme would be up there too.
-
“The Big Banana” from Price’s music library.
-
I think a lot of game show cues I enjoy only strike me with warm fuzzies because of the strong nostalgia I associate with them (I generally don't care for '80s synth, but I never recoil from the Press Your Luck theme). Objectively, the fee version of "Bhen" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ty1hJ5mt3nE) from The Price Is Right isn't a particularly exemplary piece of music, but darned if it doesn't put a smile on my face every time I hear it. It's so peppy!

I gotta go with this as well.
-
As much as I love think music and themes, I don't know if there is a more aesthetically beautiful piece used for a game show than Rondo from A Little Night Music, which forms the theme tune of BBC Radio Four's Brain of Britain.
-
As mentioned, the title theme from The Mad Dash is a certified Banger™.
I get the warm fuzzies from a bunch of the old Price cues as well. Can't find a YouTube link at the moment, but there's something about the cue named "Robert" from the 1976 reel that makes me oddly happy when I hear it.

I've been on an Italian game show kick lately, and some of Augusto Martelli's themes are fabulous.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTy1l-i5Xl0
And, in a similar vein, ELP's take on "Fanfare for the Common Man." It was used as the theme for Top of the Form in Britain for a while.
-
Trivia Trap.
-
"Splendido," without question and without fail.
The original "Tattle Tales" theme does my heart good, too, particularly in the B section.
I could go on and on, but I'll stop with those two.
-
Chump Change has been my iphone's ringtone for years.
-
The original $10,000 Pyramid theme...it tells me something big is going to happen; also the original Jeopardy theme was always comforting
-
Chump Change has been my iphone's ringtone for years.
"Joker's Jive" has been my iPhone's ringtone for years.
-
Blackout and the NBC Daytime 1970's Hollywood Squares theme are ones I repeat on my audio devices a few times in a row.

The win music from Your Number's Up is the epitome of the term "ear worm" but got trapped on a meh show with a legacy rooted in a TV debacle (Supertrain) and a unsold pilot (Second Guess '82).

Call me uninformed, but what did Supertrain and Second Guess (besides the Stewarts) have to do with it?
-
The piece he's describing was originally part of the Supertrain soundtrack, got (sped-up and) recycled for the Second Guess pilot before its melody was used in the Your Number's Up package.

Double Dare theme (1986-93)

Ah. Thanks!

Forgot to add “Hot Potato”. I’ve used it as interstitial music while hosting Music Bingo/Bar Trivia.

This brings up another topic which I've thought about for a while. I guess most of us here have collections of theme songs. Besides listening to them on your own, do you get any other use out of them?
My wife and I have been in the ballroom dance community for a number of years and for several of those years, I've been DJing ballroom parties. Each party we have about a half-dozen door prizes that are drawn during the evening. Whenever a prize is drawn, I'll throw a game show theme in the background when the winner comes up to claim it. I'm sure at least some of the people must recognize a few of them, but at least I get enjoyment out of exposing these people to them! Probably some are thinking "...where have I heard that before?"

TPIR has a wonderful music library dating back to 1972. Unfortunately the way they mix the audio now, the music is buried under George Gray and the roar and shrieking of the studio audience, so you can barely hear it. This is ironic because they are paying for music performance rights, a production person to cue and time the music, plus a technician to operate the playback equipment.
Edd Kalehoff did not compose all of the music for TPIR. Some of it was composed by the late Walt Levinsky, esp. the cue that became the FF theme. Levinsky was one of the many ghost composers used by Score Prods, including Edd Kalehoff, Charles Fox, Michel Camilo, Gary Anderson, Ken Bichel (Match Game) and who knows who else.

So many, but tops on the list is the 60s Bob Cobert Password theme. As a fan of the big band/orchestra sound, this bright piece captures the Bert Kaempfert style popular in that era. Also have fond memories of our first infant child's attention being captured by the openings of Chain Reaction and Bullseye back when they were on CBN Cable. Other top ones are Rafferty's Blockbusters and Robin Ward's To Tell The Truth, which, with a touch of editing, would be great for The Price Is Right.
-
The closing theme to Super Password is one of the brightest, most cheerful pieces of music I've ever heard. I remember when the '80s TV Theme SuperSite first came online - I made a beeline for that clip.
-
I use TPIR's Big Banana as my everyday alarm clock and the portion of TPIR's Sam previously used for the reveal of the first two prizes in Ten Chances (among other places) as my text tone.
-
The Big Showdown is my favorite theme.

It is mine as well, 100%.
One of the things on my dream list for TVPMM is the full Super Password package (plug cue, bonus game walk cue, etc, higher quality version of the main theme tune, etc).

I think my most-wanted at this point would be Money Maze. Considering it's Score that did that, it's surprising nothing's turned up for it.
-
Any love for the Cullen Blockbusters theme? It's up there for me.

Theme is good, but a favorite part of the music from that show is when a contestant loses the gold run and the clock hits zero.

I’d love to hear Doc Severinson’s or another live band perform it. There’s a lot that great players could mess around with.

It gets love from me, but the end of the first verse is missing something IMO. I feel like it needs either 1/16 notes instead of 1/8 notes on the trumpets, or a different instrumentation altogether. Maybe ditch the trumpet for that measure and put more emphasis on the electric guitar and Fender Rhodes.

The Big Showdown is my favorite theme.
It's among my favorites as well, along with
1970s ABC Password
1970s Concentration (Narz)
1980s Tattletales

I really like the 2 most popular Stormy Sacks themes: “Caesar’s Challenge” and “Hollywood Squares”. Others that “slap” (as my teenage daughter would say): “Double Dare” (2018), “Finders Keepers” (Room Romp), and “Chump Change” from NYSI.
Also agree about “The Mad Dash”. The opening, with that energetic theme, really does a great job at stirring up excitement and drawing you into the game.

I agree about the Rhodes - I often wondered why they didn't fly this in more for a "solo" bit at some point...

I just saw this - and I agree - there's a few jumping off points that could be the start point for an extended solo or jam...

I always thought that those notes at the end of the main verse represented the name of the show... B! L! O! C! KBUSTERS! Or not.

Add me to that list. Ironically, the SP reel was sitting in Stan Blits’ office for many years. My understanding is that many of those older G-T show reels which were no longer topical were simply left behind when the Price staff moved out of the offices on Sunset.
However, I understand that Michel Camilo has the DATs in his possession — in case anyone sees he’s having a garage sale.

Agreed. Great music package all the way around. Recycled for The Guinness Game and (very briefly) Match Game ‘76ish (presumably somebody recognized it).
“Chump Change” is also my phone ringtone (although its Cosby connection makes me uneasy). I would make Jackpot’s “The Jet Set” my ringtone if I ever figure out how to make one and install it.

Oh I agree with this one, I'd be surprised if anyone can hear it and miss the joy.
Especially in the piano. Seems that the underlying spark in a number of notable themes is in the drowned-out the piano or guitar, at least to me.
Not a lost cue, but another little thing I made that expresses it differently.
