Title: Anne Robinson to leave "Countdown"
Post by: SamJ93 on May 02, 2022, 04:52:20 PM
After just one year as the program's programme's host presenter, she's ready to call it quits. (https://metro.co.uk/2022/05/02/countdown-anne-robinson-quits-channel-4-show-after-1-year-16573267/?ito=article.mweb.share.top.link)

Renowned UK news broadcaster Trevor McDonald hosted a special episode of Countdown last year and would be a good replacement if not for the fact that he's in his 80s...

She really wasn't the right fit for the show.

And Anne Robinson was born only nine months after one Richard Whiteley.

Rumor,...er Rumour has it that Pointless co-presenter Richard Osman is the front-runner replacement for Anne.

IMO, Richard would be a great fit for the show.

There is no way best-selling author Richard Osman, who currently has Steven Spielberg adapting one of his books, is going to step down from Pointless (2.5m an afternoon) as a filming commitment to take up Countdown (400k an afternoon on a good day).

He would be good on the game, but he's already stepped down from POINTLESS to devote more time to writing.

(Oh, sorry, Brig. Of course you knew that already. My apologies.)
