Title: A question about "Classic Concentration" and the staircase o' cars...
Post by: Steve_Bier on February 06, 2016, 03:13:42 PM
I don't know if this has ever been asked before, and I'm striking out with Google...but how were the cars placed onto the staircase? Were ramps put up against it, and the cars driven (or pushed) on? Or was it more like an elevator-type platform, where cars were parked, and then the staircase raised upwards?

From Steve Ryan's book Classic Concentration: they were driven onto pallets and then put into place, presumably by a forklift.

That is correct!  I can't remember if it was in the same book, or a different one, but reportedly the question was asked during a taping, and Gene Wood jokingly answered by saying, "my wife drives them up the stairs!"
