Hey everyone,
I was looking at the Tattletales episode guide and wondering something:

Week 8 of the series says it aired from 4/8-4/12 and then again on 4/15. From there, celebrities would no longer change on Monday.
Was an episode pre-empted for some reason, or were there actually 6 episodes?

The schedule says "(April) 8...12, 15" rather than "8-12, 15", so I am assuming that an episode got pre-empted rather than there being six of them.
Then again, TVTango says that CBS aired six episodes with those three couples - but doesn't include an episode number for the 4/15 episode, so there's a chance that it was a repeat.

I thought it would have been odd for them to air 6 episodes. And I wasn't paying close attention to it on Buzzr to figure it out.

I recall in the summer of 1973, regular programming was preempted on a network rotating basis, due to the Watergate Hearings. You'd notice that on the very first Match Game '73 episode, Gene Rayburn closes the show saying "join us, next time..." instead of "Tomorrow."
It became quite a custom on CBS shows, at least, where shows like MG, Tattletales, and even during the 79-80 version of Beat the Clock, that the celebs would appear in odd 5-day spans, over the two week blocks, and was usually due to preemption related to news events, or even the monthly CBS feature called IIRC, "Afterschool Special."

"Afterschool Specials" were ABC. I want to say CBS's were always "Schoolbreak Specials."

Yep - and occasionally before that, "Afternoon Playhouse", which pre-empted whatever 4pm offering CBS had with a 5-day miniseries. "Joey and Redhawk" come to mind as one of them. To complete the trifecta, NBC's offering was "Special Treat".
