LeBron James' production company is developing a prime time game show for NBC.

Payouts could reach seven figures, no name or airdate, or solid format.
-
So basically the show has "million dollars that'll never be given away" and "LeBron James". Of course, NBC would take a run at it.
-
Not much to judge, granted, but I smell another overblown game show offering a million dollars, and NBC is banking on a big name to sell the show. Unfortunately, the show will prolly lack any substance to make up for all the pomp.
The article itself actually makes the show sound more like a Queen for a Day or 50s-era Strike it Rich, as opposed to the overproduced Q&A I was expecting. I now expect overblown sob stories and lots of manufactured drama. In other words, something closer to Deal or No Deal or the 2008 American Gladiators revival. Because NBC.
/Prove me wrong, NBC, prove me wrong
//Although...if they still had the NBA, the promotion could write itself
///Wouldn't mind seeing something like Shark Tank

Hey, now. That's no reason to be so cavalier about it.

It's ok. If it doesn't work out, NBC can take the heat.

I for one am eagerly anticipating the 30 minute press conference when it gets greenlighted.

I'm sure there will be plenty of cameras to capture the footage. The Patriots can supply the cameras, as long as their van's tires aren't deflated.

Yeah, I'd hold this statement in until the Super Bowl is over, champ. Nice of you to drag out a quote from three months ago when the Seahawks were playing like crap.

//Both the one on GSF and the ones in Oklahoma City.

Or else what.
I'll throw out a guess that the show will be a format near to that of The Big Moment, which would have had to increase its own jackpot amount anyway had it been a longer-running series and not merely a summer replacement.
-
I think you look like a petulant child. So we both win.
Trust me, Mark, everyone knows who the petulant child is around here.
-
Well I hope it's a summer show and not stripped over a week in December like Take It All- because you know Lebron can't produce in the fourth quarter....
-
I'm still trying to figure out who edited their original statements because the quotes don't match.

I deleted my last post from this thread because I thought better of it, but not before Chris got to it.

The games are going to have to straddle, because if there is any part of the show where the contestants have to make a major choice, it will have to be done on the following episode as, "The Decision".

It's too bad Dennis and Art are dead, they could have done walk-ons.

"I'm going to take my talents to the next episode..."

It will do well on NBC for seven years. Then, in a betrayal, switch over to ABC, where will it will be the #1 rated show for three years. It will then work things out with NBC, and return to middling results.
