Title: Family Feud taping locations
Post by: Vahan_Nisanian on October 13, 2013, 11:47:51 AM

According to The Encyclopedia of TV Game Shows, the original Family Feud taped at two different locations, during its 9-year-run: ABC Vine Street Theater on Hollywood/Vine (1976), and ABC Television Center on Prospect/Talmadge (1977-1985). To any diehard fans, what\'s the best way to tell apart the two different stage layouts?

Also, does ABC Vine Street Theater still exist?

The main difference I\'ve noticed visually is that in the episodes taped at Vine Street, you can\'t see the audience when the camera zooms out to reveal the entire set during the opening.

As a matter of fact, the first 25 episodes were done at Vine Street Theater.  On #26, they moved back to Prospect, and the audience is in the opening.

Interesting pictures. For some reason I thought Chuck Barris did most of his taping in Glendale. (And no, I have no idea where that notion came from.)
