All I can say is good for Justin.

\"Extremely rare.\"

Completely true description but sort of exasperating to think these were only made in small quantities for promotional purposes. In original run and reruns, nobody in charge of PYL seemed to realize they had a marketing slam-dunk on their hands.

I don\'t follow the collectibles market, so I never knew there was a Dick Clark doll like the one advertised at the bottom of Matt\'s link.

My goodness, that is beautiful.

Not to burst anyone\'s bubble, but...

the Pearson tag means it\'s late 90s, no? Or do I have my head up my OOPS!?

I think it became Fremantle in fall 2002, so yes. Either way, it was right after GSN started airing PYL reruns and the \"Whammy!\" revival

He says as much in the description, so I\'m gonna lean towards the latter.

PYL came to GSN in 2001 and the seller says late 90s.

Fine; but a TV show doesn\'t miracle itself onto your TV set. Wasn\'t it in development for a long long time?

I dare you to correct him, Sheldon Cooper.  Justin isn\'t an idiot.

The description doesn\'t say PYL went to GSN in 2001.  It says he got this item at a GSN event in the late 90s.  Words have meanings, and stuff.

Now, now, right is right... I based the \"late 90s\" manufacture window on the Pearson tag, but as Pearson didn\'t become Fremantle until 2001 (according to their Wikipedia page), it\'s possible it was made in 2000, so I\'ve updated the listing accordingly.

I appreciate everyone\'s encouraging words... my anniversary is Monday and I\'m hoping that the money I get from this auction will allow me to treat her to a wonderful night out. :)

LOVE this.  I think it\'s terrific when you can say this one specific thing was responsible for this other specific thing.  You\'ll remember this anniversary and laugh about how it was all made possible by a little rag doll.

Of a Whammy, no less.
