Title: Flashing Grout?

Hi group!,

     In the 80's, I remember watching a game show on NBC called "Scrabble"...ah, heck I remember watching the reruns of it on USA! (It was on after "PYL", was it not?) What I wouldn't do to see this show in reruns again. Anyway, IIRC when a contestant won a round on "Scrabble", the white lines around those blue bathroom tiles behine them would start to flash. My question is how did they make...we;;, the grout flash. Must be a complicated process.

As I saw it, the whole panel behind the player flashed. IMHO, the whole thing was semi-transparent and was backlit. That light just flashed to create the effect.
