Standard profile. (http://"http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/alex-trebek-thinking-deep-after-28-seasons-of-jeopardy/2012/04/29/gIQAgi1MqT_story.html") Nothing terrifically new, and he's not planning on retiring soon.

Interesting that just in the last week, we've seen separate stories saying that neither Trebek nor Sajak (http://"http://kdrv.com/page/245287") have any plans to retire. Coincidence, or an orchestrated PR move to let the stations know there's nothing to worry about?
Or maybe they were just addressing our concerns. (http://"http://gameshow.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=22904")

I didn't know Trebek sits down at his podium now- wonder if that was because of his leg incident last year?

Yeah, he's been sitting since the beginning of the season. The only time he stands on-screen is when he walks out on stage, contestant interviews, and during the credits.

And during the Final Jeopardy reveal of course.

I haven't noticed. Is he standing for that again now? He wasn't right after his accident.

The man's in his 70s, and there's no real pressing reason for him to stand.
He's had back problems for a long time. I remember once reading his favorite show to host was To Tell the Truth because he could sit.

Confirmed--he was kind enough to answer that question for me at a taping I attended in 2007 and said exactly that. (Note that he also happened to say it at the very first TTTT telecast he did.)
/Could've won the jackpot if I got him to say "Malcolm."

Had Jane Kaczmarek been on Jeopardy by then?

Yep (did it three times, in 2006, 2009 and 2010). So I guess I couldn't have won the jackpot.

Let the retirement frenzy begin again... (http://"http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/alex-trebek-thinking-of-retiring-from-jeopardy.html")

IIRC, wasn't Bob Barker reportedly "thinking about retiring" as early as 1995?
And on a tangiental note...has "reboot" officially replaced "revival" or "remake" as accepted jargon for anything old that's new again, regardless of how appropriate its use is?
