According to this article, (http://"http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/57704") Guy Smiley's real name is Bernie Liederkrantz.
That's gouda to know.
-
So that's what the cheese immortalized in Final Jeopardy was named for. But then again, being a Muppet game show host is as much luck as it is skill.
-
Bernie Liederkrantz is a flat-chested bimbo.

And here's the real cheese... (http://"http://youtu.be/qqnJsdIlyio")

Can I get Liederkranz cheese on my Subway (Eat Fresh) sub? :D
Still trying to shoehorn that, eh?

Hey, if you guys can make forced memes out of stuff I only said once or twice, then so can I.
<sigh>
If you wish to use defensive excuses in order to continue precisely the sort of behavior that gives you your reputation around here, you go right ahead. Just don't be surprised when your reputation around here fails to change that much.

When you're the only one doing it...no, you really can't.

So, using your examples, you're ramping up the beating of a dead horse by yourself.
What's that axiom about not learning from history again, Bobby?

Liederkranz twice
Since it was the easiest word to search, I checked. You brought it up four times on this forum alone, and who knows how many more on the now-defunct Jeopardy board, where several of us were also regulars. Each time, you've been told it's annoying and yet you continue to do it. Don't blame us.
-
Fair enough. I only brought up Subway twice, though, so why can't I look at a thread I've posted in without seeing someone making fun of it?
Simply put, in terms an eight-year-old might use, you started it. If I had taken a drubbing in this thread (http://"http://gameshow.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=22059&st=0&p=265543&hl=subway&fromsearch=1&#entry265543") like you did, I would have built a program into my computer that would alert me every time I typed the word 'subway' just in case I accidentally made a reference to underground transportation that still might get misconstrued. That's how careful I would be about never bringing it up again. Yet you still think it's something you can make jokes about and nobody's going to call you on it? Remarkable.
-
What do you WANT from me?!
I'd answer that question, but I like posting here.
Simply put, you haven't learned much from your follies way back in the ATGS days. When you have a moderator giving you succinct, straightforward advice, and you fail to comprehend it, it might be time to take a break from posting....let alone mentioning the "Subway Incident".
-
I'm not going to use the self-restraint Mark used.
What you should do:
1. Listen more.
2. Post less. Run it through your head before you hit the post button. Think to yourself, "Is it a worthwhile contribution?" If so, post. If not, don't. There is nobody holding a gun to your head saying "POST THE LIEDERKRANTZ/SUBWAY EAT FRESH LINE AGAIN OR ELSE."
We've gone through this stuff for years with you. If you want to change, you will. Obviously, you don't.
-
But still. I mention it all of TWICE and you guys act like I've spammed the damn forum with it. I don't get WHY I got the "drubbing" Matt mentioned because at that point, it was literally only my second mention of it, ever.
Maybe we'd rather you not have mentioned it AT ALL, ever consider?
EDIT: Actually, wait. You just said you said it three times. Now you say twice? So which is it?
-
What do you WANT from me?!
Accept your pwnage with grace and dignity, instead of whiny caterwauling. Faulting that, quit saying things that are laughably dumb, like how Jeopardy! is as much luck as skill. Ease off the gas as the inimitable math teacher said upthread.
The big problem I have is that you're basically saying you don't want to be called out when you say something silly.

Which was what I was TRYING to do when I made the subway quip in response to seeing someone make a callback to my Liederkranz reference. When I asked if I could get Liederkranz at Subway, the only thought in my mind was "Hey, that's a joke directed at me. And I think it's funny, so I'll have a laugh at my own expense."
When the right thing to do was to keep your trap shut. You made it all about you, which was your intent all along, so who the hell are you fooling.

the now-defunct Jeopardy board
The official site shut down their message boards?
That's a shame, I always enjoyed reading it. (Especially with the fact so many ex-contestants posted there)
-
*facepalm*
Somehow, the fact that this thread started with a reference to a Sesame Street character is far too appropriate.
-
What do you WANT from me?!
You asked. And since I saw Jonathan Coulton last weekend at PAX, I'll let him answer. (http://"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVVZaZ8yO6o&hd=1")

The official site shut down their message boards?
The boards were apparently an ancillary victim of the Sony hacking fiasco a few months ago.

He's not the only one doing it. I managed a pretty good unintentional set-up for him in the Blondie/Dagwood/Wheel of Fortune thread.

Dagwood ... is this ANOTHER sandwich reference?

Dagwood ... is this ANOTHER sandwich reference?
Yeah, in that thread it was. Pretty clever of him to catch it, I thought
