Title: Million Dollar Press Your Luck Promotion in Vegas
Post by: peiboy91 on August 31, 2011, 01:06:12 AM
I was in Vegas over the weekend and Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino has a neat Press Your Luck machine outside of its entrance. Anyone with a Total Rewards card can play and you're allowed one spin per day. The grand prize is a million dollars with other prizes including a Norwegian Cruise, free slot play, and other Vegas discounts and freebies. You can see a nice picture of it on this Vegas blog post (http://"http://lasvegasblog.harrahs.com/promotions/a-new-way-to-win-a-million-bucks-in-vegas/"), and even though it says it's closed on Sunday, I was able to play it this past Sunday. Here's video of my spin (http://"http://www.twitvid.com/UAINV"), it's very impressive with how authentic looking and sounding it is.

Even though I hit a Whammy, I was given a coupon to redeem at the Total Rewards desk for a consolation prize, either a Planet Hollywood shot glass or a Baby Carlos t-shirt from The Hangover similar to this one (http://"http://www.wbshop.com/The-Hangover-Baby-Carlos-Adult-TShirt/HARJBABAT,default,pd.html").

Nice! The blog post you link to also has a pretty neat slot finder, just in case you were wondering if the casinos still carry your favorite game show slot.

You didn't tell us which Whammy you landed on!

I played that when I was in Vegas as well. I won a $75 free slot play coupon, a free drink, and a free ride on the Eiffel Tower which I never redeemed.

I wonder just how often the $1 million slide cycles around. Once a day maybe?

Sorry, I was reeling so much from hitting the Whammy that I didn't notice which Whammy it was, but watching the video again it looks like the skateboard Whammy. Great job on the slides.

Am I wrong, or did I hear the buzzer sound from Whammy! when the button was pressed?

Yeah, we had to put "something" in for the general public to know that the button was hit - that was a casino call.

That's privileged information. :)
