Not too horrifying. The G-R's probably won't like it, though.

THE CHANGE!!!!!
-
Wow...I REALLY like that. Can't wait to see the new doors too.
-
I think they've done a great job. Not too little, not too much.
-
Pretty slick...I like it. The LED ribbon lighting is a really nice touch.

Response on g-r.net has been overwhelmingly positive. It looks spiffy from this corner, as well.

As if that was ever in doubt.

Did you actually bother to read Dave Mackey's reply before you posted that?
(And now, in an attempt to shoot myself in the foot: I think it looks ridiculous. But hey, maybe it'll come off better on the air.)

Very nice! Can't wait to see more pictures.

I know it probably won't happen, but a cool thing to do with that flat-screen at the back would be a return of the Plinko (yes, Android, it is a word, damn autocorrect) sign to behind the audience, just like 20+ years ago. Would be a neat little homage.

As much as this would be cool...i actually like the current reveal. A lot.

They seem to like everything except the new lights- it's a little more nay than yea on that feature, but yeah, it has been a great response.

Agreed. the classic reveal was really cool, but I do have to give major kudos to whoever came up with the new reveal (Rich DiPirro?), because it captures Pinko's "epicness" just as good, if not better, than before.
By the way, apparently today was the first tape day for Season 40, so we should be seeing a lot of pics/video of the rest of the set quite soon- I imagine we'll start seeing video on priceisright.com not too long after they finish airing Season 39 first-run eps.
-
Looks good, don't get the whole light strip thing. The TPIR logos in the actual corners of the area there is pretty different...maybe they can run the open like Bob's last show?
(mute unless you want an earful of Rich Fields)

It's a miracle. Maybe there's some sanity left over there after all.
/probably not

I don't mind the new part. I just wish they wouldn't feel the need to have the entire rainbow on the curtains.

Which, aside from a couple "special" shows and a couple pre-empted shows, was actually yesterday.
-
And as per someone who was in the audience for the first taping, the only other change is that the mics in CR are now remote controlled, adjusting to a persons height. The only acknowledgement of the 40th is the same displays they put in between the doors at the top of each season.
-
I wonder if the new mics can be programmed to cold-cock any stoner who bids $420.

"Durrrr... $420, Drew. Hee hee hee."
*ZAP*
"Don't worry, man, it happens. Jeff?"
"Um, $1869."
*ZAP*
"Ooh. Mike?"
"$9001, Drew."
*ZAP*
"Sorry, man...And, Rachel, since our other three bidders have been incinerated, you win by default! Come on up here!"

I think the rule should be that if the ARP is within $100 of $420, then it's acceptable. If the ARP is within $250, then you get a pass (everybody gets ONE). If the prize is nowhere near $420, then the contestant should have to wear the cone of shame and suffer some obscenely horrible penalty.

Have you seen how well that works around here?

Nope!
