In anticipation of the upcoming Daytime Emmy Awards and the Lifetime Achievement Awards going to Pat Sajak & Alex Trebek, USA Weekend (the Sunday insert in many local newspapers) put a brief cover story piece on the current state of game shows. Also included is a USA Today "How Well Do You Know Game Shows" quiz.
Nothing earth-shaking for most of us, but is worth a quick read.

Took the quiz. Does anyone have the link to the What's My Line episodes with Arlene Franks?

About that photo from the original Match Game, we finally know who a couple of the people were. There was a similar group photo from the 1st edition of The Encyclopedia of TV Game Shows, and it has stumped many of us for years.
Cordially,

The theme of the Match Game episode pictured was Miss Americas:
Francis Burke - 1940
Bebe Shopp - 1948
Evelyn Ay - 1954
Sharon Kay Ritchie - 1957
Deborah Bryant - 1966
The caption writer said that the 1962-69 Match Game is still seen on GSN. He(or she) should have done research, and he (or she) would have learned that the majority of the MG6x episodes was erased by NBC.

As I was curious, I took a look at the 1960s panel listings from MatchGame.org; while they don't mention the Miss America contestants, the celebrity pairing of Sam Levenson and Deborah Bryant is the week of October 11-15, 1965 (http://"http://web.archive.org/web/20051224165054/http://www.matchgame.org/episodeguides/matchgame/mg65.html").

And I'm sure Sam was delighted to be in the company of such beautiful ladies.

Didn't the article also claim that Wayne Brady was the host of "The Price Is Right"? My head hurts.
