Title: Emile Autuori
Post by: narzo on March 01, 2011, 11:06:32 PM
Watching the Season 3 "Here's Lucy" DVD there's a special introduction to episode #20 by one Emile Autuori.  Oh yeah, it's definitely him.  Looks fairly good so I'm wondering how old he would be now.

Anyway, he mentions he was on five episodes of "Here's Lucy", including the one he's introducing which is from 1971.  Makes one wonder if Chuck Barris made up the whole story about how he discovered Emile as a guard working on the lot, goodness knows he's made up enough other stories.

The story I heard was that Geoff Edwards saw him (as a security guard) in the studio parking lot and asked him if he wanted to be on the show.

Chuck would swear that I was a contestant on the Gong Show, and my segment was edited out for time constraints, despite me being very little back then.

Well, Geoff told the same story about how Chuck discovered him, so there's corroboration there. More importantly, the fact that he was an actor with credits doesn't preclude him from also being a security guard. I live in the LA area and currently hold two jobs, one at a wax museum, one as an usher at a theater. Just off the top of my head, I can name a dozen co-workers who are also actors.

I think this is our first entry in a list of "Chuck Barris Facts".

I don't care who you are, that's funny right there.

/Chuck Barris doesn't sleep, instead he places himself into a deep but alert trance taught to him during his CIA training

At least we know he can say more than just "yes I did Geoff"!

just like he looked on the DVD but minus the glasses.  Hey Emile, put out that cigarette, you're a little old for that and you should know better.
