Title: Password in the 90's
Post by: edholland83 on November 28, 2003, 01:32:59 AM
To my knowledge, I've not heard of there being one (of course I was in my pre-teens then , so maybe I didn't worry about it if they did), but I wanted to ask if anyone else had heard of a 90's revival.

Dunno, but it's long overdue to at least be tried out again soon. Hopefully they don't screw it up like they did Card Sharks. It would be nice compliment to Family Feud(for those who have it on double runs, like they did with TTTT 2000 right after Feud)

Fremantle's Password 2004, inspired by Card Sharks 2001:

You may give the password itself as a clue. That'll speed up game play and bring in 18 - 34 males by the droves.

Okay, but only once per game, and first you have to complete a stunt that involves something messy.  (That'll slow down game play, so we don't blow the budget.)

No. No. You'll be given a word and the player will have to identify the word through a series of definitions. As we all know, Password is a game of definitions.

No way.  In our sex-obessed society, the only way a revival of Password can succeed is if the passwords all have something to do with forbidden body parts.

The only good thing, of course, will be that Alphabetics will pretty much be unchanged...except that the host will make a point to mention every time that he gives us the first letter of each password because..."I'M A NICE GUY!"

Now, here's how a Password Revival would work:

They can either play, pass, or do a stunt for 20 points that involves little to no mess. You may use a portion of the word for a clue. First to 100 points wins. If they fail to within a point in time, the host will give out clues to each password while each one becomes a buzzin.

the bonus round will be for $5,000, and involve getting 10 words in 30 seconds. each word is worth $100.

The host? Gary Kroeger. The announcer? Paul Boland. Guest stars? Former soap stars, Kin Shriner, and Judy Tenuta.

And if you haven't realized that this is not even close to a Fremantle Password revival, then you are an idiot. thank you.

Shouldn't there be some Candid Camera-style clips shown before a password can be guessed?

I'm sure there are plenty of those left over from Card Sharks.
