Because the NHL doesn't shove him down your throat enough (http://\"http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=345478\")

Would you rather have, say, Brooks Orpik and Tom Poti?
/intrigued by the potential of a BizNasty showcase
//guessing it wouldn't involve a PT Cruiser
///or ice time

I'll always take the college players when offered.

Knowing that it's Sid the Twit makes me less likely to watch.
At least they won't have Dany Heatley giving away a sports car....

Don't the Habs have a goalie who would make for a perfect guest spot?

And if they were offering a showcase involving a trip to this season's Heritage Classic in Calgary, I'd be all for Carey Price Is Right. But it's a trip to Pittsburgh, for the Winter Classic between the Penguins and Capitals, who happen to be captained by the two biggest names in the NHL today in Crosby and Ovechkin. So, again, who would be better as representatives of the NHL to promote this event on another program? Bear in mind that saying "But I don't like Cindy Crysby" is not a valid response.
It's a smart move for the NHL, who geta good chunk of pub for their marquee regular season event on a competing broadcast network.

Replace O-wretch-kin with Ryan Miller and you have me sold.

Okay, if anyone wants to talk sense at some point, I'll be over here in the corner, face in palm.

Crosby and Ovechkin can go pound sand. I'm in it for the Roenick. :)

It will be quite embarrassing for the NHL when the showcase showdown wheel goes through his five hole.

Fair enough. You get Manny Malhotra.

Ryan Miller would fold in Crosby's presence, just like the shootout in the first Winter Classic and in overtime of the Gold Medal Game this year.
I'll match Sodboy's Manny Mahlotra with an ex-teammate of his: Ryane Clowe. The superflous "e" speaks for itself!

Just as long as he doesn't cry.

And Gary Thorne finally learned how to speak it *himself* in NHL 11.
/kinda misses the Mr. Clow references
//Ryane Clowe
///that's the name
////that name again
/////is Ryane Clowe
