Title: NBC wants to play this summer, "The Catch" is..
Post by: weaklink75 on November 19, 2010, 06:25:40 PM
They actually want to play catch. Didn't National Lampoon do a radio skit about this (http://\"http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/live-feed/nbc-reality-pitch-plays-catch-47190\")?

It's about time they gave Leno a decent lead-in.

I wonder if this is the current administration's way of saying, "Have fun fixing this mess!" before the Comcast merger happens.

OK everyone, let's drag out those ideas we all have had in the past again, like Million Dollar Lite-Brite and such.

Note to network executives: You know this show and its Japanese origin wasn't meant to be taken seriously right? (http://\"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcduI4iVbTg\")

Anyone want to hear my proposal for "The $121,000 Ultimate Cribbage Throwdown"?

I need a forgotten 90s comedian/TV star to front it. Dave Coulier available?

Well they did have a show called Championship Bridge in the late 50's-early 60's (the MBC actually has an episode available to view)......

\and still no one picks up The Cube..
\but if they did, they'd probably base it off of a Rubik's Cube..
\and make it celebrity based.... (http://\"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PphZD0SfNGY\")

When I read the premise of this show, this clip came to my mind immediately.  Well done.

You guys are missing the obvious:

Fremantle wants to save money. They're going to reuse the Downfall set - completely. Instead of putting the contestants up top, they'll put them on the ground. Catch the prize as it goes overboard, win it.

Simple.

How about $69,000 and we move it to cable.

[/quote]Fail. Here's another hint. The losers receive $19 as consolation money.

Calling it: Wipeout meets Flyers Up, with your Ant&Dec host pairing, with a prize less than $100,000 per.

Can't be any dumber than all the televised poker.

Gawd help us.

On Monday I'm going over to NBC to pitch my new game show. I'm going to tell them "details are scarce as the format is still being developed".

Think they'd be interested in Xtreme Mindreaders? "The only game show that looks inside your brain."

True, but none of the other 8,000,000 poker shows on television can hold a candle to HSP.  I mean, have you seen that Pokerstars Million-Dollar Dreck FOX airs when they don't have a doubleheader?

I saw the first episode of season 6 of HSP and having Gabe alone on commentary is too awkward.  Pretty neat that they are going with PLO for the next season.

I find that the PokerStars Big Game to be more compelling than the current season of WWTBAM.  Sadly neither of the local FOX affiliates carry it so I had to settle for pokerstars.tv.  Million Dollar Challenge is very cheesy but I only watch to get the freeroll tournament code.
