I happened to tune in to the weather on KCBS, and guess who was doing it: Former TPIR announcer Rich Fields!

With Paul Magers, or was Fields on earlier in the day? Magers was huge here in Minneapolis, and if he's sharing the news desk with a former TPIR announcer, well gosh, is he ever a big fish in a big pond now.

Rich Fields has been doing double duty as a weather meterologist at various times on both KCBS and KCAL, the two-owned CBS stations that are a duopoly in the Los Angeles market. He also has been heard at times as a fill-in on-air personality on KRTH-FM 101.1, the "classic hits" radio station owned by CBS Radio.

Rich Fields has primarily been fill-ins, but I see mostly see him in the 5-7am. Fields also does some radio weathcasting for KRTH and KNX.

Spotted him on today's 5 p.m. weather forecast.

Rich posted on Facebook that today's (Friday 8/27) TPIR is the last one he taped. He posted too late for east coast viewers to catch it, but consider this a heads-up for the rest of you.

There is also one more "new-to-TV" episode of Price with Rich coming up - September 15. This is an episode that was delayed apparently because of a trip to Nashville. It was delayed from May (right after the flooding), to 8/31, then to 9/15.
